The Mayors Innovation Project announced a new cohort of local leaders for the second annual Mayors Institute on Pedestrian Safety. The program, in partnership with AARP Livable Communities and Smart Growth America, selected 10 mayors from a national competitive application pool of candidates to join this year’s cohort and two are from Massachusetts. Over 30% of older adult caregivers report simultaneously receiving care for their own daily activities, according to a report published in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society.  Caregiving was defined by self-reported assistance of another adult with day-to-day activities due to age or disability; overlapping care-receiving was defined by simultaneous receipt of help for at least one activity of daily living (ADL) or independent ADL (IADL).
