Dust mite allergy with only one symptom?

I have been struggling with very itchy skin (wheals) for a long time now. My doctor told me that it's because I have a 'mild dust allergy'. But I feel a little uncertain about this being the sole cause of my skin issues, mostly because my only symptom is the itchy skin. Surly if it was caused by the dust mite allergy, I'd also be experiencing other symptoms too, such as sneezing, runny eyes and nose, coughing ect? I don't know if it's normal to only have itchy skin caused by this allergy alone (especially considering it's an airborne allergy). And I don't particularly feel like the itchyness ..read more

Did anyone feel better with their daily allergies after stopping allergy shots?

I started allergy shots Dec 2023. I should be on maintenance by now according to the original plan, but I’m not even half way done due to all the repeats. I feel like my body is having a hard time fighting my daily allergies because my shots are giving my body a hard time. Has anyone experienced easier seasonal allergies once they stopped irritating their body with the weekly shots? submitted by /u/Kirin1212San [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Dizziness as only allergy symptom?

I’ve been dizzy for the past few days pretty much constantly and have been waking up in the mornings with short bursts of spinning vertigo for the past couple of weeks. Can allergies mess with inner ear and cause this? I feel worse when I look to the sides or lie on my sides. No other spring allergy issues except a post nasal drip feeling in the throat. submitted by /u/Vast-Beautiful-7685 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hello, In the past 6 months I have been trying to get rid of the Post Nasal Drip/Phlegm in my throat. So far I have done the following things: 1. Made blood tests - all parameters are perfect Did respiratory allergies test - no allergies have been detected Visisted ENT which told me all is good - apart from seeing some pinkish allergy like symptoms in my nostrils. Visited Gastroenterologist - he did a thorough exam on me and it all looks good. Did food allergy panel - I am avoiding the foods that were listed on the panel. I do not drink, I do not smoke, I do not drink sugary drinks ..read more

Wyndly vs Curex vs Nectar. What is the best no-nonsense allergy treatment these days?

Howdy — long-term lurker, first-time poster. This is my first rodeo stepping into the allergy treatment world. After doom scrolling through countless self-reported success stories and reviews, I feel that I've probably been dealing with undiagnosed/untreated allergies for way longer than I should have. I'd like to take one of those at-home allergy tests given that so many people seemed to have been able to get their allergies taken care of without breaking the bank or pursuing invasive treatments. Who do you think has the best at-home allergy tests/allergy treatments? (Looking at price, effic ..read more

I’ve lived in Boston and Southern California for the last decade or so. Pollen was never an issue for me. I moved to the DFW area last year and I suddenly became allergic to most every type of pollen. I’m seeing an allergist and getting the shots, but I’m so allergic that I’m progressing very slowly. I’m thinking of moving back to Southern California to find some relief, but I also know it’s impossible to escape pollen completely. What’s has been your experience in moving due to allergies? Where did you move to and from? submitted by /u/Kirin1212San [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Zyrtec Allergy Medication Side Effects on Mood

I recently started taking Zyrtec for my allergies since Claritin was not working at all anymore. However, I’m usually a very anxious/nervous person but I’ve been feeling a lot more calm lately. But at the same time I’ve been feeling more sad/depressed. It’s a weird feeling like everything seems pointless all of a sudden. Have others experienced this? Is this normal? submitted by /u/ProgrammingGirl12345 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Last night I got in bed and went to sleep. I woke up 2 hours later with a sneeze and runny nose. I got up and took 2 Benadryls and blew my nose to rid any irritant. One our later, I was wheezing, my eye lids are the size of tennis balls and my nasal cavity is puffy and swollen. Are food allergies this delayed? I don’t have any food allergies and I ate things that a regularly in my diet. I had short rib for dinner and chuck roast for lunch (small portions) so I was thinking I could have Alpha Gal Syndrome. My main issue is that my eyes swell up the size of balloons and I can’t control my sneez ..read more

Why can I tolerate specific eggs that have been cooked in certain ways?

Some background: my mom has a allergy to eggs when it comes to cooking them (scrambled, sunny side up, etc- not if they are diluted by cooking them into something) I have a something similar, but not really. Since I was young, I couldn’t eat eggs at all except if they where scrambled or made into an omelet. Sunny side up, poached, over easy makes me sick to my stomach and gassy, but soft and hard boiled eggs will make me throw up. I usually put stuff into my scrambled egg or omelet, but I can eat them plain just fine. Why is that? submitted by /u/Ipeeonicetea [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
