I’ve been sculpting here and there in the last few months, mainly doing small (1:6) human head. Last week I decided to buy my self a spinning stool, so I can do bigger things. I’m almost done with the right side, for the rest idk if I keep on with a full skull or I take a more creative path! submitted by /u/Nickel-Bar [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Köszönöm. submitted by /u/Mean_Translator_8036 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Kia ora folks, I've been dabbling with sculptural artwork for a few years now and recently took the leap to becoming a full time creative. I won't waffle on about what it means and what it symbolises but I'll be doing a few more in this vein and keen to hear your thoughts. submitted by /u/ArcaneEntropy [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

[Help] Lord Vishnu & Lakshmi Stele. What material is this?

Iconography: Male Figure: Vishnu (Shankha, Chakra, Gada/Mace, Diadem, Earrings). Female Figure: Lakshmi This is a stele of Lord Vishnu and Lakshmi. I'm thinking that the material is possibly a soft marble or grey schist, but I'm uncertain and trying to figure that out. I'm guessing it might be 10th or 11th century. I was going to say Gandharan, but those art pieces are typically Hellenistic and Greco-Roman. Any suggestions are helpful. [Help] Question about shipping large sculpture

Hey guys! I am making a big sculpture (18-20 inches) for a high profile client and I really don’t want it to break during the shipping process. The picture is a concept sketch for the sculpture; I’m planning on making it with stonewear clay fired to cone 06. I’m shipping from Colorado, USA to Melbourne, Australia. Any and all recommendations are welcome regarding sculpting, packing, firing, and courier. They’re paying for shipping so price isn’t really an issue. submitted by /u/arodan3 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
