March Meeting 3/21/24 to feature Dan Conlon as guest speaker
The Bennington Beekeepers' Club is glad to announce that our March meeting, hosting Dan Conlon of Warm Colors Apiary, will take place Thursday, March 21, from 6:30--9:00 p.m., in the Rotary Room of the Bennington Free Library. The library is located at 101 Silver Street in Bennington, and on-street parking is available.

Our next meeting will begin with a 6:30 Potluck Supper and a Business Meeting at 7:00. If you arrive after 7:00 the library doors will be locked but there will be a sign on the left hand door with a number to call. Then one of us will come down and let you in!

The Bennington County Beekeepers Club will meet Sept. 14, 2023 at the Rotary room of the Bennington Free Library from 6:30-9:00. The first half hour will be a potluck supper. The Bennington County Beekeepers have been meeting over the last two years mostly on ZOOM. I will announce the next meeting here. Our club doesn't have a complete roster of officers at the moment and we are looking for new leadership.
When we next have temps above 40 please check on your bees. Take a quick look under the outer cover, listen for buzzing and check that they have enough food. Sugar cakes or winter patties can go in one the top bars with a shim.

Virtual Learning course offered for new Beekeepers in February
The Bennington County Beekeepers Club will again offer a free beginner course for new beekeepers. Learn about the interesting life of honey bees, the skills and equipment needed to care for them and the many challenges they face.
This is a wonderful opportunity and resource to meet and learn from seasoned beekeepers in our area. The course covers setting up a hive, locating it and finding where to get your bees.

April Meeting Cancelled
The April 9th Bennington County Beekeepers Club Meeting has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 social distancing requirement as ordered by the governor.
Access to the Veteran's Home is also restricted.
Check back with us later in the month to see if we will be able to meet for our next scheduled get-together on May 8th.
