I was diagnosed with Hashimotos hypothyroidism after my daughter was born in the beginning of 2022. We started trying for our second July of 2023 and I had a MMC in December and recently a chemically pregnancy. I just saw an RE who is optimistic I’ll be able to conceive after adjusting my medication and prescribing progesterone during my luteal phase. I guess my question is if anyone has a similar experience how long did it take you to conceive? I’m worried because if I get pregnant my next cycle my due date would be 3 weeks after my daughters birthday so I’d like to wait one more cycle but i ..read more

Living Life in Slow Motion: My Journey with Hypothyroidism

For years, I felt like I was trudging through life in slow motion. The world seemed to be moving at a normal pace, but I was perpetually stuck in first gear. Fatigue was my constant companion, a heavy cloak that draped itself over me, sapping my energy and motivation. It wasn't until I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism that the pieces finally clicked. A Fog Lifting: Recognizing the Symptoms Looking back, the signs were there all along. The constant weight gain despite seemingly healthy eating habits, the hair loss that made my once-thick mane feel like wispy straw, the brain fog that made eve ..read more

Chin/neck fat Why is my chin/neck area like this? I’m a pretty average weight (5’4 160 lbs, so I could stand to lose a little) but I don’t understand why my neck looks like this. I do have hypothyroidism, so that may have something to do with it. submitted by /u/Ok-Beginning1232 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

HOW to get treatment when lab results are normal?

I read Broda Barnes’s book about hypothyroidism, which went into detail about why lab tests aren’t always reliable. He went on and on about what thyroid treatment can do, but I still have no clue how to actually get it with lab results that seem normal. Any help? submitted by /u/tfn1 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Normal TSH without l-thyroxine?!

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism when I was 13 years old with TSH 14.00. Unknown cause, but my gland was smaller than normal. Since then I was stable on low dose of 37.5mg levothyroxine. After 15 years I have dropped the drug because I felt no different on it. Months have passed. I have checked TSH twice now and it is normal 1.50 How is it possible? Can thyroid heal on it is own? Was i cheated into taking this drug for years? submitted by /u/InDarknessX [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

High TSH, Normal T4, very low T3?
Reddit - For those that suffer from hypothyroidism

I’m pretty sure I’m not converting T4 to T3 adequately and am undiagnosed hypothyroid. Had my tsh, free t4, and t3 checked a year ago by my doctor. My tsh is on the very low end of the normal range (which means I have plenty of thyroid hormone). My free t4 is middle of the normal range, and my t3 is on the very low end of the normal range, almost zero. I know t3 is the finished product and what the thyroid ultimately produces. Could I be having a problem converting t4 to t3 and that’s also contributed to symptoms? I don’t have all the crazy hypothyroid symptoms, but do have some memory loss a ..read more

TSH Finally Goes Down

So I have been taking Levothyroxine for probably about two and a half years with, of course, blood work in between. I would say that over the past year-and-a-half every time I had blood work done my TSH levels were steadily climbing. Last August when I had blood work done they were almost at 12 which was a pretty big jump from the previous test. Recently, I started feeling kind of yucky again and decided that I probably needed to get blood work done so just got those results back and now it's at like 4. I am at a loss to know exactly why it would change that much or go down that much. I think ..read more
