I (32f) just received test results.

I received test results indicating my TSH levels were 6.722. I was tested around the same time last year and was in the normal range. Based on my symptoms, the results make perfect sense and I honestly feel relief. I know next steps are another blood test to confirm. What are the chances this is a fluke? submitted by /u/girlsandwich [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Does taking t3 affect t4? help please

hi i have been on t3 medication for around a year which has really helped, recently i have become really fatigued and i recently got a blood test. my Rt3 has come back into normal range from 900 to 450, however my t4 has now dropped from 18 to 10. does being on t3 medication affect t4? should i try dropping t3 a little bit, or do i need to be on t4 medication as well? cant get in touch with my doctor for a while thanks submitted by /u/AriaFinch [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Anybody with a TSH of 2.5 - 3..5 and had success with T4 treatment?

I’m interested in knowing the stories of people who were technically in range with their TSH, also normal levels of ft3, ft3, but still had typical hypothyroid symptoms, and choose to get treated either with Levo or T4/T4 combination? Most endos will tell me that my thyroid is fine and won’t consider treatment. I have an unmedicated TSH of 3.2, and in the summer, it drops below 2. submitted by /u/Adonis_by_night [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Stopped taking levothyroxine for a week and still hyper?

I happened to switch drug brand/manufacturer for two weeks straight and when I came back to my usual brand after about 7 days I started having bad hyper symptoms despite having the same lab work I had a few months ago when I felt normal. Of course, my doc prescribed a lower dose and I'm supposed to take it but I am terrified because I am still having hyper symptoms. What would you suggest? Again my labs look the same from a few months ago and it all went downhill when I interchanged brands despite all being the same dosage. submitted by /u/smdx459 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Wife diagnosed a few weeks ago, 26 F. Biggest issue currently is muscle pain/stiffness in hip.

Hello all, my wife was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s and Hypothyroidism a few weeks ago. It’s been awful and she’s hardly been able to sleep because of the pain. I wish I could do something to help, but it doesn’t seem anything has been able to ease it for her. Her doctors have sent to her to a few different specialists for RA, but they still won’t diagnose her with it. Is there any recommendations for the hip pain to help ease her suffering? She just started levothryoxine 50mcg. submitted by /u/Penguinapple77 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I’m so confused as to why my dr keeps putting hypothyroidism on my chart…

I’m not sure if anyone can help me with asking questions at my next dr appt. I keep seeing “assumed hypothyroidism” on my notes. I also noticed hypothyroid on a very old ER discharge note from ten years ago. No dr has ever told me I have hypothyroidism. I’ve had my thyroid tested a billion times in the last 15 years. My TSH has always stayed consistent at .86 and my most recent T4 is 1.2. So I’m confused because online that seems more like hyperthyroid? My symptoms are overall fatigue, low energy, mood swings and the last two years weight gain. Im not sure what im missing here and what to ask ..read more

Need help finding a doctor in northern Colorado

I’m in northern Colorado and I need help finding either a primary care physician or an endocrinologist that takes FT4, FT3, & RT3 labs into account when making dosage changes. I just really need someone that can think outside of the box and collaborate with me. I do not believe TSH is the only relevant lab result. TSH suppression is safe in premenopausal women and normal when taking a T3 medication. I’ve been struggling with doctors treating the numbers instead of the patient. I have Medicaid because I’m a full time student. Any help would be greatly appreciated! submitted by /u/CitricHa ..read more
