This summer we were given the honour of making Runa meditation cushions as special gifts for the female physicians across Canada participating in a new mindfulness course with Understory. What kind of sitting props & cushions would you suggest to be comfortable while you meditate?
Everyone’s body is different, so the most important thing is to find the perfect cushion and posture for your body. Once you know what size and shape of cushion you need, you can choose the fabrics and designs that inspire you.

How has meditation changed your life?
After I discovered different forms of meditation, yoga, and other introspective practices following an existential crisis in 2014, meditation has changed every aspect of my life, and how I approach and interpret my conscious thoughts, relationships, career, projects, art, travels, seemingly mundane moments on any given day, humanity as a whole, and far more.

Growing up my mother used to put inspirational sayings on post-it notes on the walls around our kitchen table. She was quoting Thich Nhat Hahn and His Holiness the Dalai Lama long before Instagram. I admit, I didn’t take it very seriously at the time, but she created a space in me to receive wisdom.
Interestingly the only quote I remember from the kitchen was the one posted at the head of the table in front of the window. It was not from a famous person.
