Reaching out for support isn't always an easy thing to do. Brain Tumour Support Professional, Dave Haq, talks about his experience of supporting men through the complex and often emotional journey triggered by a brain tumour diagnosis, whether their own or that of a loved one. It’s no great secret that, compared to women, men generally tend to deal with their emotions and problems internally. There is clearly no right, or wrong way for anyone to address issues that are affecting them, but worries that are kept locked away in your thoughts can result in you becoming overwhelmed with your situa ..read more

Our volunteer ambassador Heather shared some thoughts for Volunteers Week on her own brain tumour experience over the past ten years: I don’t normally watch the BBC soap opera 'Eastenders', but the recent story following the character Lola, from her diagnosis of brain cancer (glioblastoma multiforme) to her death aged 26, has given me cause to reflect about what I've experienced and seen since I was diagnosed with a brain tumour back in 2010. The storyline has led me to think about my own experiences being involved with the brain tumour community, and the lessons I'm still learning. My little ..read more
