….and Paris will never be the same!
Watch my friends TV Star & Rapper Action Bronson & natural wine distributor Clovis Ochin eat & drink through my neighborhood in Paris (installment 1 of 3) at the one & only Yard Bistrot (Jane Drotter/Chef Nye Smith), La Buvette Wine Bar (Camille Fourmont) and Le Servan (Sisters Tatiana & Katia Levha).
Bravo everyone!

Charleston is a refined Southern city (nicknamed “Chuckstown”) surrounded by salt marshes and beaches on the Atlantic coastal plain called “low country” Its access to local seafood is unparalleled. Chefs are literally steps from area producers who are tapped into for creating menus.
Of course, you MUST have shrimp and grits, but there’s also Asian soul food and baller BBQ. I was recently in town with several legendary chefs from France, and these were our stand out favourites. More than you could hope to tackle on a weekend trip but it is a good reason to get back!

Nice France is a popular side trip from Paris – with a proximity to the Mediterranean and Italy, these are exactly the types of foods you will find there. Olive oil & olives, lemon, artichoke are everywhere and of course, pasta and pizza are extraordinarily popular.
These are my go-to favourite spots in the area where everything is delicious, fresh food & natural wine, laid-back and casual.
Don’t miss the Cours Saleya food market for your produce, flowers, etc. but avoid the touristy places to eat surrounding it.

Check out these wonderful places that are open to eat & drink through the end of the month by arrondissement. Most are open all month, some are just reopening!
My top picks are restaurants serving fresh produce, natural wines & craft beers organised by arrondissement. The wildly popular/crowded listings are denoted with an * so that you know in advance they’ll probably be crowded.

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO:
1. CHECK. THE. ADDRESS. Diners are accidentally going outside the city limits to an unaffiliated Bistrot Paul Bert by the flea markets.
2. Service in a French bistrot is not helicopter hovering, if you need something, you’ll need to flag them down to ask for it.
3. The famous “steak-frites” are so special they get their own menu, ask for it.
4. Well-done steak? Not in France. If you have to have it this way, please respect the cow and just order something else. As the owner told Andrew Zimmern on TV, “We’ve already killed the animal once, why would we do it twice ..read more

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO:
The Clown Bar is not a quiet romantic restaurant – it is a popular fast-paced wine bar packed with people who all know each other table-hopping to say hello. If you prefer a calmer environment, reserve at their sister restaurant Saturne.
As part of the buzzy wine bar ambiance, they use an a la carte menu format so that diners can order several plates to share, 4-6 plates (8-12 on the menu) are the norm. Don’t be surprised to see chefs and food industry folk ordering the entire menu, twice. They are there to socialise and not leaving any time soon.
