For our latest merch we collaborated with Japanese illustrator Momoe Narazaki. We first spoke with Momoe after her and her partner Will published a series of zines interviewing a number of skaters including some rad Ramallah locals - Malak, Nadeen and Zaina and Maen Hammad. Nora Zeid is an Egyptian independent illustrator and visual artist based in Dubai. Coming from a graphic design background, Nora shifted the focus to her practice in early 2021, building a roster of clients including Google, VICE, Diwan Publishing and Kerning Cultures. 2021 saw her first solo exhibition entitled ‘Cairo Illustrated: Stories from Heliopolis’ in Dubai, followed by another solo show: ‘Cairo Illustrated’ in Cairo in 2022. We're excited to announce we are working with Betongpark.Ltd and Inash AlUsra to build a concrete skatepark in Al-Bireh/Ramallah, Palestine. Established in the city of Al-Bireh in 1965, Inash AlUsra is a non-profit, charitable and developmental Palestinian women’s association. We’ve been discussing the project with them since the beginning of the year and have now been granted a space at their girls orphanage located in Al-Bireh. The results of the 2020 Survey of Social Skateboarding Projects Worldwide by Skateistan and Pushing Boarders are out!  Like in previous years, the survey aims to better understand and document the goals, impact and activities of the social skateboarding communities, this time focusing on the impact of COVID-19 on the sector.  The survey received responses from 117 skateboarding projects working in 60+ countries pushing forward despite the ongoing pandemic. We’re excited to share with you SAHTEN - The SkatePal Cookbook. The book paints a picture of the current skateboarding scene in Palestine, told in the form of a cookbook.  It features recipes collected from various figures in Palestine’s skateboarding community, shop owners, local heroes, past volunteers, and even by Palestine’s own international master chef, Sami Tamimi.  Each dish has been illustrated by Palestinian-Canadian animator Noor Abouseido, and coloured in by young skaters in Palestine and the Palestinian diaspora in Canada.
