I have recently started freestyle and greco roman wrestling and I am wondering what the rules are regarding returning your opponent safely to the mat.
Obviously you cannot spike someone on the head but when you watch greco or freestyle from the world championships it looks pretty gnarly sometimes. Suprising to not see more broken arms and concussions.
So what is your obligations as a thrower? If you do an arm throw or head and arm throw, do you have to go down to one knee or can you basically just throw the guy with no regards to his safety (I am not saying you should do this even if it was a ..read more

The merch lines at Olympic trials are abysmally understaffed and there are no security officials making sure lines aren’t uniformed. People are standing in the entire hallway space claiming to be in line. It’s like an endless horror for these folks. I understand merch lines are always a long journey but having at least one security guard making sure the lines are uniformed so people aren’t confused or cutting would be helpful and ease the stress of people paying hundreds or thousands to be here.

I recently started wrestling and I like the russian tie (also known as 2-on-1).
Who is the best person to study to learn more about how to use it? I know some throws/takedowns you can do from there (keylock lateral drop, firemans carry, scoop up the leg to a single, ankle pick) but it would be nice to see it in action from a real master of it.
Is it generally favored by russians (hence the name)? I read somewhere that it is low percentage, is there some truth to that or is it just that those people have not trained it enough?

everytime I shoot an underhook on this particular guy, he gives me a strong overhook and burys my arm. I try not to do a lazy underhook and keep the elbow high up but I am thinking I am doing this wrong. Is there any instructionals or youtube videos out there that have precise details on how to keep a strong underhook so A) the overhook doesnt kill it B) I do not get thrown C) do not get fireman/highcrotched to oblivion.
Thanks for the help in advance

So we know how has an extra (5th) year of eligibility if he decides to use it.
But I got to thinking: Other wrestlers have received an extra year of eligibility due to making the Olympic team (30yr old Fix comes to mind). Could he technically get a SIXTH year of eligibility if he wins the OTT?
Or does an Olympic Redshirt mean you can't compete in college at all that year?
Obviously this is a huge hypothetical, but I'm still curious how this all shakes out. Is it possible to have the first-ever 5 AND 6-time NCAA champ?

I just got an email from pinnacle if ykyk it’s a pretty big wrestling school asking me if I want to join their post grad program but I’m going to a college that doesn’t have a wrestling program and I’m not all that interested in freestyle and Greco
I was done with wrestling I had accepted it but now idk if I want to go back in bc it’s kind off been my life since like kindergarten I’m ..read more
