As a nonprofit organization guided by Jewish values and dedicated to countering genocide around the world and the hate that leads to mass atrocities, Jewish World Watch (JWW) – like many across the globe – has deeply felt the ripples of the massacre in Israel on October 7th. We mourn with the families and friends of the 1,200 people murdered, 133 hostages that remain in captivity, and the over 200,000+ Israelis displaced by ongoing rocket fire. We are gravely concerned about the rising tide of violent antisemitism and calls for the destruction of the Jewish homeland. JWW is also keenly attuned ..read more

Tying Together Our Past, Present, and Our Future
Jewish World Watch Blog

As Jews around the world observe International Holocaust Remembrance Day this Saturday, we cannot escape the knowledge that we are only three months out from the largest massacre of Jewish people since the Holocaust. We cannot escape the knowledge that our present bears eerie similarities to our past. Amid the swift rise in Jew-hatred, Holocaust-like denial, and revival of ancient conspiracy theories, the Jewish people are still mourning the 1300 lives taken on October 7 and the 136 hostages remaining in Gaza. In the diaspora, bomb threats to Jewish institutions have quadrupled, anti-Jewish ha ..read more

Responding to the “national day of hate”
Jewish World Watch Blog
by Serena Oberstein

We believe in a world that does not stand idly by while civilian populations are being attacked simply because of who they are. A world in which all people, regardless of ethnicity, religion or background, feel safe and welcome in their community. To accomplish this, we must stand up against hate whenever and wherever it arises. As you may know, extremists, including neo-Nazis, are planning an antisemitic “national day of hate” for tomorrow in the United States. The goal of white supremacists and those who breed intolerance has always been to create widespread fear and profound divisions in o ..read more

Please support the people affected by this crisis by donating to our earthquake relief fund today. donate ..read more

The Armenian people are facing crisis once again. Azerbaijan has blocked the only road connecting Nagorno-Karabakh (known as Artsakh in Armenian) to Armenia and the outside world since December 12. This most recent aggression leaves 120,000 people in Artsakh under siege, unable to access medical supplies, food and fuel as the region experiences harsh winter conditions. This is the second time in just two years that Azerbaijan has committed a clear violation of human rights. It must be condemned by the international community yet again. In 2021, we celebrated with our Armenian sisters and bro ..read more

Jewish World Watch applauds Canada for Uyghur resettlement vote
Jewish World Watch Blog
by Serena Oberstein

This week, members of the Canadian Parliament stood up for human rights by unanimously passing M62. The motion calls on the Canadian government to accept 10,000 Uyghurs and other Turkic minorities fleeing persecution in China. The Jewish community has a profound understanding of the importance of acceptance of others. We know the unthinkable ramifications of being denied refuge. Since the motion is non-binding, Jewish World Watch urges Prime Minister Trudeau and Immigration Minister Sean Fraser to swiftly implement any necessary additional measures to support Uyghur resettlement.
