The faithful love of the Lord never ends!! His mercies never cease. Lamentations 3:22 And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth. John 17:3 Eternity with Jesus includes today. My study Bible notes reminded me that happiness depends on happenings and joy depends on Christ. “Joy is the quiet confident assurance of God’s love and work in our lives – that He will be there no matter what.” Philippians is Paul’s joy letter and it was written from prison, yet he reminds us to “always be full of joy in the Lord.” (Phil ..read more

Life’s challenges and imperfections can take a toll on us. If you are looking for a little help in the joyful and thankful department, I’ve found some in Psalm 32.  “Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight! Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of guilt whose lives are lived in complete honesty!” v. 1-2 Isn’t it easy to get focused on the temporal things and lose sight of this Good News? Our sins are forgiven! I struggle on the regular with joy dips and often my struggle is based on me and my circumstances: What’s missing in ..read more

Your Heart & the Help of the Holy Spirit

Hi praying friend. How’s your heart? Mine has been an in interesting place of “Wow God!” moments, learning to take better care of myself, moving forward, big bold faith decisions, great big sobs, and screaming by myself in the car. Can you relate? At the ripe old age of 52, I’m learning that walking with Jesus does not always look pretty on the outside or the inside. Victory for me these days is in learning to be more real with myself and God. It also looks like being kinder to myself when I notice my imperfections. I’ve been reading Esther Fleece’s book, No More Faking Fine: Ending the Preten ..read more

Get ready for some encouragement friend. The Lord has been speaking to me about many things and I am filled with hope about our today and our future. We are the Bride of Christ. We are chosen and dearly loved by God. He has set us apart for His Son. Speaking this truth about my place in Christ and in God’s heart is making a difference in my perception of God and the amount of peace I am experiencing. (Colossians 3:12; Jude 1) Our circumstances may look more chaotic than we ever imagined, but God remains the same. He is still the One who gives us a feast in the presence of our enemies. He is st ..read more

A New Sense of Belonging

“May the Lord See You!” These are the words a new friend has been praying over me and I am just amazed by the timeliness of the prayer. I’m so excited to share this story with you. But before I do, let me ask you a question. Do you feel seen by our Savior? I’m emotional thinking about how to share this with you. Several months ago, I was given the opportunity to share my heart with a songwriter who wanted to use my thoughts to inspire her next song. I prayed about it and I knew the Lord wanted me to tell her what He had been whispering to me about being “welcome.” As I would bring my unsettled ..read more

Hello there kindred soul! I’m popping in to rehearse some really good news with you. We belong to the God who supplies His children with plenty! Plenty is the word the Lord has given me to focus on for 2020. Plenty in ’20 has a great ring to it, doesn’t it!? The last few years have been very different for me financially than the last 20 years. This new season has spurred me on to new growth in my relationship with the Lord as my Provider (Jehovah Jireh). I have been growing in my awareness of what the Bible says about God’s promise to provide and practicing the humility of talking to God about ..read more

The Wonder of God’s Faithfulness + New Bible Study

I can’t think of a better way to start 2020 than with a focus on God’s faithfulness. We have no idea what 2020 truly holds for us. But we know the One who holds our futures in His faithful hands. Deuteronomy 7:9 reminds us that God’s faithfulness is a gift to us and the generations before and after us. “Understand, therefore, that the Lord your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands.”  Seeing God as faithful in the lives of others is encouraging and it ..read more

Ready for some good news? My newest book, Fresh Strength for the Grieving Heart, is finally here! I’m thrilled with how simple and beautiful it is. Isaiah 40:31 promises that “those who wait upon God get fresh strength.” (The Message) Because the Word of God is alive and never fails, Fresh Strength for the Grieving Heart is a gift book that will extend real hope and encouragement. Each page is beautifully designed with a simple prayer and the supporting Bible verses to help those who mourn connect with God. Many people walking through great loss find it difficult to concentrate and ..read more
