9 August 2017 / Simon Sjöberg About 2 weeks ago my boss called me and needed my attendance in New York for a day. Since SAS has later flights during the day they all land after 1 pm and forward since this was not a option for this time, my choice went to United Airlines and the new Polaris Business Class concept. United has a morning flight departing 9:10 am from Arlanda and arrives Newark airport 11:50 am. Check in was smooth, however I immediately notice a much higher security check while standing in line compared to flying SAS out from Stockholm. Staff from United walked around asking ..read more

LOUNGE REVIEW - Air Koryo Business Class Lounge Pyongyang Airport
Simply Aviation

I managed a quick visit to this lounge upon my departure from Pyongyang, North Korea. The lounge itself was not really special. It had a assortment of fruit, snacks and drinks. The only way to get in to this lounge is basically flying Business Class with Air Koryo or Air China on those few occasions they fly to Pyongyang during summertime. The staff was friendly and spoke good English and payed very much attention to the customers needs. However I would have liked a hot food option for breakfast, but I can understand why they don't have it since my flight was the only flight out from the airpo ..read more

Air Koryo Economy - Tupolev-Tu204 1 June 2017 / Simon Sjöberg A few months ago I got the opportunity to visit one of the most closed countries in the world, North Korea. The country also refer to DPRK has a state owned airline by the name Air Koryo which took me from Beijing to the capital Pyongyang, a flight around 2 hours. Upon checking in the process was quick but the line to the counters was very special. As you can see there was a lot of luggage that was about to be checked in. I only traveled with one checked bag and carry-on so my process was quick. Since I was departing from Beijing a ..read more

For an even more detailled insight, watch my video on YouTube! After clearing security control I just turned right and went up an escalator. Here I was, the entrance to ANA’s Business Class lounge. I was greeted with a bow by ANA’s always-so-friendly staff. After showing my ticket I was granted access to the lounge. The lounge and the welcome desk were connected by a long hallway. ANA’s cooperation with Lucasfilm was visible at every corner, including in that hallway. Rare figures and models from the Star Wars series were displayed there, which was pretty cool (and unique)! Other Star Wars m ..read more

REVIEW - Iberia's Long-Haul Business Class: Chicago O'Hare to Madrid Barajas

While the aircraft was taxiing into the parking position I was called to the gate for processing my upgrade. I was by far not the only one called to the gate desk that day, at least two dozens of people were called regarding their upgrades, seat changes and so on. The gate staff was very busy handling my flight but were able to statisfy every customer, including me. I was booked in Economy Class on my return flight as well, just like I was on my inbound flight to Chicago. But I managed to be upgraded into Business Class stand-by. And luckily the Business Class cabin was not completely ful ..read more

In June 2016 Austrian Airlines invited a bunch of Bloggers and Instagrammers, in marketing-terms "Social Media Influencers" to a great event called the MyAustrian Moment Tour. After a very informative tour through the hangars Austrian Airlines invited everyone to board a parked Boeing 777-200ER (OE-LPA) airplane which was parked on a remote stand. What happened then was a 4-hour-long experience I will never forget. A whole Business Class flight was reenacted, including a 3-course-meal. In this blog entry I will share my experience with you and tell you the pros and cons of flying in Business C ..read more

LOUNGE REVIEW - Copenhagen Airport - Scandinavian Airlines Business Class Lounge
Simply Aviation
by David Pauritsch

By David P. A warm and welcoming feeling right from the start. Last week I was travelling from Vienna to Berlin TXL with a six-hour layover in Copenhagen. I was travelling in Economy Class so I did not have complimentary lounge access but since the layover was that long I decided to pay for a lounge access voucher. Scandinavian Airlines offers lounge access to all Economy Class passengers travelling on a Star Alliance flight from or via Copenhagen Airport for 210 DKK (~28 EUR / ~32 USD). Of course it's free of charge for Business Class and Star Alliance Gold members.   INTERIOR The inter ..read more
