what I have 1kg of MnO2 so lots of room for error and retry, 500g Sodium/potassium hydroxides, 70g Sodium chlorate mixed with sodium hydroxide cant really get any oxidants because of local laws. I have almost all the safety equipment in the world available due to my company giving out free stuff when no longer needed

If you are a chemistry major (in the USA if it matters) and you have a choice between taking Physics with or without calculus (one year of either), which is going to be more useful later on in chemistry either in school or on the job? I know the calculus based one is probably harder and more time consuming, but I think it's do-able if there are advantages later on...

Suppose you didn’t get all the soap out of your clothes and didn’t know and lived life normally, touching things in your house. Realistically, in general, how long would it take for the soap residue to completely degrade (gain flings)?

Hey, so ive heard that nitrocellulose lacquer doesnt ever really cure. As a guitar player and certified chem-phobic this got me worried about some guitars i own that are finished with this lacquer.
My concern is, is since it supposedly doesnt cure is it safe to handle? For example, if i play my guitar then go cuddle my dog is she getting nitro on her? Ive heard it can be nasty stuff in the manufacturing process.
Anyway, probably a silly question since so many guitars are finished every year in America with this lacquer but i figured i may as well ask.

Hey, why does nitrogen, sulfur, hydrogen react with IIA group metals only when heated?
Are they not active enough, or is it something about these 3 non metal elements?
Thanks for answers!
