US National Championships: Seniors Day 2

The US National Championships will end with the final session for the seniors. The first night ended with Simone Biles sitting at the top of the leaderboard with a huge 60.1, 3.1 points ahead of Morgan Hurd, sitting in second with a 57.100. Simone was also the top finisher on every event. If she wins every event after night two, she will be the first woman since Dominique Dawes in 1994 to do so. Will she be the next Dominique Dawes? The final day of US Nationals is upon us.  The competition was fierce. Day 1 ended with GAGE's Leanne Wong leading the pack with Sunisa Lee and Kayla DiCello following close behind. Wong was the junior winner at the US Classic qualifying event a couple weeks ago, and it looks like she's on her way to becoming the junior national champ as well. Just got off of work and I'm ready for gymnastics, it's my reward for a busy Friday. We had the juniors session earlier today with GAGE's Leanne Wong leading the way after the first round of competition. Tonight will feature current reigning world champion Morgan Hurd, current reigning Olympic and 3x world champ Simone Biles, and the current US National Champion Ragan Smith. There's also the NCAA faction, represented by Margzetta Frazier, repping UCLA and Florida Gator Trinity Thomas. It's championships time! I start the festivities with a live blog of the juniors session. It's day 1 of a two day competition. Some faces to watch include McKayla Maroney clone Jordan Bowers, Sunisa Lee, Kayla DiCello. Time for the senior session of the GK US Classic. This is super exciting because tonight, we will see the return of the one and only Simone Biles. Really, this should just be the "Simone Classic" because, Simone. She's competing with a new crop of senior athletes that include defending world champion, Morgan Hurd, Jade Carey and Riley McCusker among others.
