Hi there! My neighbor found out I use to Irish dance (many years ago I’m embarrassed to say) and she has an in home dance studio. Nothing competitive - we do a bi yearly performance and it’s just a fun kind of laid back dance studio. She asked me to teach Irish dance this past spring season - I hesitantly accepted and I absolutely LOVE it!! Currently I just teach an adult class - I wanted to see how well it went first season. Out of all things I’ve retained in my life - Irish dancing is one of them. It just came back so naturally and I actually do enjoy teaching. But now that the dance season ..read more

Tips for breaking in heavies

(Posting on behalf of a friend I dance with) She’s bought a new pair of Antonio Pacelli heavies and is finding them very difficult to dance in due to the toe tip being rounded (as in the bit that sits on your toes/ball of your foot) so the feels like she’s going to tip over or is walking on stilts Anyone have any tips on how to break them in/make them flatter? The pair she dances in currently are many years old so they’re pretty worn down and flat submitted by /u/kelsiebethan [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Does anyone know what brand of shoe these are?

I’ve had these heavies for well over 10 years (quit dance at 16, started again at 24) - does anyone know what brand they are? They’re split sole leather and incredibly comfy, my parents would’ve bought them for me back in the day, so I know for a fact they wouldn’t be something over £100 - probably more around the £50 mark Originally had a black toe but they’re very worn down - no branding or distinguishing features on them The only shoes I’ve found similar are the Corr’s shoes, but they’re £127? So I don’t think that these are those submitted by /u/kelsiebethan [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Has anyone else ever dealt with being blocked from paying? Then being ignored in emails ? I am really upset by this. Especially when I didn't have any control over my bank holding funds and declining transactions. The emails I received were somewhat rude and then being told they are expecting me to say "I PROMISE not to continue to attempt to pay online, until I sort things out with my bank" Well, now I can't even pay because I'm being wait listed. I'm really annoyed. When I have already sorted things out with my bank, had immediately apologized for their declined transaction, and even explai ..read more

How are soft shoes supposed to fit?

I know that they’re supposed to be very snug, and they are as tight as I can possibly get them. My toes are all the way at the end of the shoe and my heel is all the way back, but yet there is still gapping as pictured towards my toes and around my heel. It is the worst at the front of my foot. It feels like there’s too much room vertically, but they feel nice and snug horizontally. But yet I can’t tie the laces any tighter at the front. I’m afraid if I go a size smaller to eliminate the galling that they’ll be way too short. I can dance in them, but it feels like only the middle of my fo ..read more
