Already half way through the 5gallon water jug and just noticed these dark rope like particles floating. Confirmed the entire 5gallon jug have these floating in the water. What are these? Do these cause illness or just visually unappealing?
Facts: 1. Filled the water jug at a Walmart fill station last week. 2. Not sure when the water jug and reusable cap were last sanitized. I know, nasty. All jugs/caps have since been sanitized and are now on a regular schedule to be sanitized. 3. Water is capped at all times. 4. Stomach still cringing.

So, let’s say that you find an interesting pathogen that is not commonly found in a blood culture. This particular organism is not common, therefore there isn’t much literature about it and there isn’t any particular article that defines the interpretation of the Mic that you get from doing an E-test.
Eucast and the CLSI also do not have any information about the interpretation of the Mic.
My question is the following:
is there is a way to extrapolate the minimal bactericidal concentration from the minimal inhibitory concentration?

I brought home my mom's clothing and items from assisted living facility e after she moved to another facility.
, but I just realized maybe I should be concerned about bacteria If and other microorganisms. She was there for several years and there are illnesses including covid and respiratory infections. The clothing always has a slight smell --not strong.
I live with an immune comprised person so If best to get rid of clothing I will.
For the things I must keep like some blankets I recently brought home thee how can I 100% get rid of any bacteria, etc.
Someone who is immune comprised lives w ..read more
