I was able to attend this show over the weekend. It was very nice. It was quite crowded , so my photos aren’t the best. But I still saw many quilts worth sharing. Info for each quilt follows. I’ll share more in upcoming posts. Have a great day ..read more

A Little Something New

I had extra batting and backing at the end of a quilt I’d quilted. So I decided to make a little something to use it up. I grabbed this charm pack that I’ve had for ages. And started cutting. The largest squares will finish at four inches. Time to sew some tiny hourglass blocks. Baby steps….. Have a great day ..read more

I cut the pieces for the additional blocks needed, but I changed my mind on the layout. I have a hard time making the exact same quilt twice! This is where I’m headed at the moment. Have a great day ..read more

Remember this?

I made this quilt for AccuQuilt when they came out with the Mill and Star BOB die. Since the quilt was going to be sent to them, I cut out extra blocks to make one for myself. Apparently, I had a case of brain fog that day. I got my pieces home to Michigan and left the die in Arizona. When I got them out to work on, I had only cut enough pieces for ten blocks. Ugh. So they got put away. I finally got around to cutting out more blocks, but I changed my mind on the layout. BTW, I forgot to include the link to this pattern in my post yesterday. Also, if you follow my blog via Bloglovin’, don’t ..read more

Finish It Up Friday ~ Leader/Ender

I finished my leader/ender quilt. I used an old favorite pantograph called Any Which Way. I love the backing fabric. The sharks are so fun! It was supposed to be a sheet. The binding was leftover from another project. This last photo shows the truest color. This quilt will get donated to Project Linus. For some reason, my bin of 2 1/2” squares doesn’t look any emptier than when I started. Have a great day ..read more

Kitting Up Projects

The first couple years when we came to Arizona, I kitted up projects to work on out here. Now that nearly all my sewing stuff is here, I’m kitting up projects to take back to Michigan. This is how I do it. First, I go through my saved ideas and pick out projects. Next, I screenshot an idea or import a picture from EQ8. I create a Note on my iPad as shown below. I decide on a size and figure out what I need to cut. It is kind of a shorthand pattern for myself. Then I grab my dies and cut. Put it in a bag and it’s ready to sew! The hardest part is saving it to sew later. I’ll kit up bigger pr ..read more

I cut my jelly roll panel into strips. Then I played around a bit on the design wall. I’m not in love with any of these, so I guess I’ll play some more. Have a great day ..read more

Something New

I was needing some mindless sewing, so I started digging around and found these bits and pieces from an old jelly roll. I cut them into random lengths and sewed them end to end. Then I sewed them together jelly roll race style and ended up with this. It’s only 32 by 43 inches. I was thinking I might chop it up and reassemble somehow. Though I do like it better than I expected to. I think there is some potential here. I’m going to have to think on this a bit. Have a great day ..read more

Yep, I decided to make a runner with my Star and Cross blocks. First, I had to pick out a border. Time to quilt. This is the pantograph I used. It is from Urban Elementz. A peek at the back: And…..ta daaaaa! The colors are rather fallish, but I do love the combination. Have a great day ..read more
