I was wondering if anyone knew of a replacement for the plastic clips that keep the shock cord in place in the connector elbows for the poles. I have pictures. Can’t seem to find them anywhere and also reached out to REI and still waiting for a reply. submitted by /u/Wildrain007 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Whats Your Review About OutdoorXL store?

Hey, I'm organising a trip to Hungary in the summer (I live in Berlin), and will camp in a festival for 10 days. I never camped on my own before and I also never bought a tent in my life..... I'm taking a look into a few websites and so far the one that got my attention was OutdoorXL , for its low prices and quality (which seems good but I don't have experience to actually judge it). Can anybody give me some feedbacks related to this store, or recommend me some other websites? I also took a look into Naturehike store but the shipping to Germany it's a bit too expensive.... Thanks for the atte ..read more

Wawona 6 atrium

Got a Wawona 6 and just getting set up. Been camping in back yard to get everything shaken out, as haven’t done this in years. Love the atrium -spent severe thunderstorm in it this afternoon ( dumb but fun). Issues I have are two : First is the rain fly that forms the atrium doesn’t go to the ground, which is ok for ventilation, but my dog is supper at escaping under it. Has anyone figured a way to dog proof it? Second is the front door under the rain fly is all mesh. Unless I’m missing something there is no second tent material door. Would be really hard to keep warm were it to get cold (rar ..read more

Re-waterproof a TNF tent

Hi everyone! I own a tent from The North Face, the Minibus 2 model. It’s been with me for quite a few years now, accompanying me faithfully on my hikes year after year, and I really love this tent. During my latest hike, I noticed that the seams have started leaking during heavy rain. Both in the fly and inner tent, including the floor. So, I’m planning to seam seal it before my next adventure. I’m thinking of using Gear Aid Seam Grip, but I’m unsure whether to use +WP or +SIL. I understand it depends on whether the tent is made of (or coated with?) polyurethane (PU) or silicone, but after a ..read more

Hi, I was wondering if anyone had experience with the Naturehike Mongar 2 tent. I’m very close to pulling the trigger and buying it, however due to all the mesh inner I was wondering what the temperature is like in the tent, and how much of a breeze you feel from wind getting under the fly and through the mesh. I’ll be using the tent in the UK, so it won’t be the warmest… Thanks submitted by /u/JakeyyP99 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I live in Florida and just got a nice tent. It came with the usual aluminum pins that don’t have a chance holding in our sand. Any advice on stakes that will hold here? submitted by /u/Albisdaddy [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Recommendations for Backpacking/Motocamping

Howdy yall, I’m a tall person shopping for a tent for motocamping and backpacking. The catch is that I’m 6’5”. I recently picked up an MSR Elixr 1 and I love it. It meets all of my criteria, except the only issue is that when I lay down in it my head and feet press up against the walls. Does anyone have some recommendations for larger tents? For reference the Elixr footprint is 86”x 33”. The width is fine, I just need more length. I’ve seen a few out there but I don’t know what brands to trust. Any help is appreciated. I’m looking for a 3 season 1-2 person tent that’s light and packable. It h ..read more
