For my college final as a product designer, I have to redesign a first aid kit for camping. I am trying to gather more information on already existing kits and improvements people would like to see. Any insight and feedback are greatly appreciated! It is relatively short, consisting of 16 questions.

My wife and I are planning a 2 day, 1 night trip on the Manistee River in Michigan. It looks like there are 2 main outfitters to rent a canoe and get a shuttle from, Chippewa Landing and Wilderness. I see that Chippewa Landing is further upstream.
Does anyone have some advice about which section of the river is better? We are looking for scenic and secluded with good dispersed camping.

My fiancé and I love to go canoe camping in the Adirondacks. We’ve just been using inherited equipment from his parents (a big ol’ indestructible Coleman canoe—see photo—that’s great except on long portages, and a couple of cheap paddles). On our trip last summer, my paddle split as I was pushing off a rock.
I’m thinking about putting a new paddle on our wedding registry and would love recommendations—I’d love something that’s an upgrade from what I’ve been using (a very basic wooden Feather brand straight paddle, same as the one I learned on as a child at summer camp) that maybe offers ..read more

I usually sleep in an hammock but I will make a trip where the tree will be too small (in the north). So I need to buy a tent.
I need a tent that is:
Light and small for not taking too much space in my package
Strong enough to withstand wind and harsh weather
Not too costly
Possibility of having spare part
I was thinking about a two place but I don't know any brand and which feature I should take a look.
Any advices will be helpful!
Thanks!

Hi all!
I have a group 4, we did the allagash last year and absolutely loved it. Wed like to do a 4 day trip of similar nature within 6 hour drive from NYC. Camping off the river, remote, nice river current with some class I/II rapids would be perfect. We were looking at the greenbrier but I figured this would be a great place to reach out and get some other ideas.

I recently bought my first canoe and would like to put down some knee pads as I switch between sitting and kneeling. I have a tandem canoe and sometimes take my son out but also use it for solo camping. For anyone who uses knee pads, do you glue down in the floor of the canoe permanently or would you recommend not gluing down and just using a kneeling pad you can move anywhere you’d like? Since I do both tandem and solo if I did glue down that would mean I’d need two sets of knee pads on two different spots of the canoe. TIA

I had an idea to take one of the many navigable rivers from Alberta, through Saskatchewan and finally ending in Manitoba, port of Churchill.
Is this achievable? Have any of you attempted this or part of this journey? Or is this not advisable?
I understand it would be a lengthy trip; how long would you estimate it to take?
Thank you in advance!

I'm going on a canoe trip in July in quebec. The camp that provides the food normally provide like 30ish grams of protein a day-which is below maintenance. Should I bring protein powder, and would it even keep? I could just put like 3 scoops throughout the day and then I'd have like 75g (more normal)
But would it even keep-and should I even bother?
Thanks

Hey all,
I posted a similar request in the PA Wilds thread, but I figured I'd take another shot here. I am a solo canoeist and am interested in paddling and camping along the West Branch of the Susquehanna starting in Shawville and pulling out in Renovo some time in May. I've been reading a fair amount of stuff about water levels and other logistics, but have not found any info about outfitters or river shuttles in this area. Since I would like to make this a solo paddle, I am looking to hire and pay someone to help me get myself, my canoe and my gear up to Shawville after meeting in Renovo ..read more
