I've been researching this for a while and I currently picking up a portable refrigerator for camping. I looked at everything from Dometic to Arb and the prices were really out of my budget as spending $1000+ seemed a little crazy to me. Do you have any recommendations for good quality products under 600$? submitted by /u/Joseph9677 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Looking to camp at Hicks lake this summer (there is still weekday availability) but we want to bring our dog. I see on the website that dogs are allowed on leash and then at Hicks lake on the east side of the boat launch, has anyone personally experienced this and have advice/recommendations? Is the boat launch a far walk from the campsites? We could also do deer lake if that is more accessible with dogs permitted to the south of the boat launch. submitted by /u/HouseplantApocalypse [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I live in a beautiful part of the country but it gets pretty warm out, honestly I am not too used to posting on Reddit but if anyone’s got any advice I’d appreciate it. submitted by /u/Unlucky-Box-8579 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Question for Campers!

Hi all! A question, I would appreciate your honest opinion. I am new to camper life and I'm currently in New Zealand, and I see many time u need to pay just for spot with no water or power access. I have land about 15min from Dubrovnik Old Town Centre in Croatia, and about 5 minutes away from nearest beach. Would anyone pay 5-10 euros for just a spot to park in? It is a nice and spacious land and I could build some tables and chairs under the trees. I have a garage as well with tools where I do some welding and carpentry, so people would potentially be able to come for repairs. Is that someth ..read more

Just got Lifetime's 28 Quart Cooler! The insulation inside and in the lid seem solid but I'm thinking installing Reflectix for better mileage; has anyone ever done this? Thanks!

Scout Leader looking for Jamboree Tent

Does anyone know of a 2 man tent that I can get that it's possible to stand up in (or at least not have to change laying down)? I don't need to be able to hike especially far with it, so weight isn't a big concern, but it has to be somewhat compact as we do have to hike all of the gear in for around 1km. I'm 6'4" and I currently use a Eureka Taron 2 man tent. It's the perfect footprint to allow me to have my own tent when space is tight, but having to change in it for a week is not a comforting thought. submitted by /u/CongratulatoryTurk [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Local desert camping soon

I plan to go camping at Agua Caliente Hot Springs soon with some friends. Most of us have been before, so no worries there. I plan to bring my green laser and may ask my brother to borrow his (amateur) telescope, if he still has it. We’ll figure out food, but any recommendations we may have forgotten? I’ll bring a picnic mat and some blankets and pillows to just look up at the stars, along with headlight and book for chillin. A 2-3ft 2x4 wood is smart, in case car is stuck in sand and we’ll make sure we abide by firewood rules. A jacket but also an EZ up, tent lantern and campsite lantern. An ..read more

Hi Everyone, I'm looking for a tent for backpacking/Hiking and camping for 2, I want something lightweight to bring on trails but at the same time I want comfort and durability. I'm down to the two options in the title that are within my budget. I would like recommendations and the opinion from people that have used one of this two tents. The Big Agnes Blacktail Hotel 2 has the covered shelter that is really cool and useful and the Marmot Tungsten seems to be lighter and simple. The big agnes is described as Bikepacking, I wonder if it would be ideal for backpacking/hiking as well. Thank you ..read more
