As someone who walks a mixture of paved greenway trails and hill hiking routes, the ON Cloudrock was an interesting boot to consider. ON is a well known brand to the running community, who prize its cushioned sole and comfort when running over mixed terrain.
With the travel limitations experienced throughout 2020, I spent the most of this year testing that hypothesis, with a combination of paved Greenway walking and Mourne Mountain hiking trips.

I’ve been making regular use of the Vango Zenith 100 over the past couple of years. It’s a good solo tent, easy to pitch, quite light and robust. However it definitely has that “cloth coffin” vibe that you get with many solo tents.
When Vango sent the Cairngorm 200 to review, it looked like a good fit for something with a little more space.

My nephew Adam has always wanted to join us for a little hiking and camping, so when he and I both found ourselves free for five days with decent weather forecast, we decided to give a shot at a leisurely trip around the Mournes.
While he’s generally young and fit, Adam had never been hiking before, so a full five days at the usual 15-25 mile per day didn’t seem sensible. Instead we opted to include the Mourne Way and a few evenings camping along with it.
