Basically as the title says I am going for my first eye exam. Recently diagnosed T2 diabetes in November of last year. I have gone for eye exams in the past but this is my first diabetic eye exam. What should I expect or is it any different then a regular eye exam? submitted by /u/jadenkayk [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

When I first was diagnosed in late 2018 I didn't take my diagnosis seriously. In 2019 i developed non healing holes in my feet and diabetic wounds on my legs. Hospitalized in 2020 I got scared into making changes. At 390+ lbs and with an A1c of almost 13, I finally made some diet changes. It took a long time, and it wasn't until just last year that I finally started going to the gym. Fast forward to today, I got my results back and my A1C is officially 5.3, that's after 8 months of not being on any insulin or metformin anymore. My blood pressure was 114/60. I'm a 39 year old male. I'm down to ..read more

I've been putting together some snack boxes that I can have throughout the day, like some cut up deli mean, cheese, almonds, harvest snaps, maybe some dark chocolate almonds, but running out of ideas on how to make it not the same stuff. What would you guys put into your low carb bento style snack box? submitted by /u/The_Bearded_Jedi [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Have y'all trained y'all dogs to alert you when you're low?

I just got a Chihuahua. He's an energetic lil mf. I've noticed that he bugs me when I'm low, like he pushes on me and cries at me. Now, he also does this when he's hungry for attention, so it could be a coincidence, but I wonder. I would love to train him to wake me when I'm low because I very often miss the alarm when I'm asleep, and won't realize until my friend calls me to tell me to "fucking eat something" (she's on my Dexcom follower list). How easy is it? Have you guys trained your dogs to tell you when you're low? submitted by /u/rat_bitch_69 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I just picked up my first box, 2.5mg, and I am absolutely terrified to take it. I’m only doing insulin right now but my doctor wanted me to start on mounjaro to see if we could get my weight down too. Somebody tell me how great it is and that it is NOT going to kill me please :’) I need some courage here. submitted by /u/t4ngerineee [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Newly type 2, super sensitive where i still flinch during ozempic shots. Luckily my dr is taking me off that to up my metformin but downside is more blood checks. Ive seen these 3 types of systems, can any1 rec which of the 3 are the most gentle for getting blood? Im fine using any brand for the actual meter read. submitted by /u/Standard_Chair5609 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
