hello Monday! just thought I would check in…life has been full of not fun drama… we do have some new babies on the horizon for family and a close friend….which always means to me that it’s time to make a baby quilt! so off I went to my local quilt shop…fell in love with this line…so I spent Saturday cutting pieces for three baby quilts! I’m also working on a t-shirt quilt…. using these fabrics to border the t-shirt designs… blessed to spend some time with my older kids out west…so lovely! hang on Spring should be arriving hopefully soon! hello Monday! so….here you are…the trip around the world memory quilt top… well, in this picture the blocks still needed to be sewn together…. for the back, I used a black plaid with a 10 inch strip of a favorite comforter the recipient loved as a child… this project now goes to a friend for quilting and binding… over the weekend, we took in the local ice festival…yes, this is constructed out of ice from the lake… here is the frozen lake behind the castle…just boggles my mind that this beautiful lake in the summer freezes so that all these vehicles can drive around on it!!! there was a pola ..read more

hello Monday! over Christmas time I saw this adorable fabric line…. hello Monday! remember this fun baby quilt project? my dear friend quilted this for me shortly before Christmas as I ran out of time….jury duty and Christmas prep put a hole in my plans… before we headed out to see the kids, I sewed the binding on…figuring I could get the handwork done… good thing as this baby girl showed up 5 weeks early!! so I was able to leave it with my daughter to get it sent off to be enjoyed! while we were visiting our kids, we were blessed with amazing snow!!! we don’t usually get lovely snow like this at our house, we have tiny snow and super cold…this was close to ..read more

hello Monday! so I finally finished sewing my baby animal quilt top together…I was really happy with how it turned out! I decided due to my time constraints to quilt this project myself….using my wavy lines…wasn’t too sure about it at this point….but just kept going… and ta-dah!!! oh I love it so!! so, so glad that I just kept going and finished instead of getting too hung up on how it looked midway through… maybe a good illustration of looking at the trees too closely rather than seeing the forest… the other morning while driving my son to school….this scene was just too cool!!! sometimes ..read more

hello Monday! this weekend I decided to pull my Christmas fabrics for a fun sew off project… see I like to alternate sewing on projects so as to always have something in the machine… as you can see I have plenty of Christmas fabrics to chose from….oh my! hello Thursday! so my college kids asked if I had a baby quilt we could give one of their trainers who recently had a baby… so I pulled back out these blocks I had made awhile ago and then let them sit… so here is my top ready for quilting…I really like how it turned out…a few spots that I wasn’t too sure about but figured you won’t see them when they are quilted… last night I captured this sunset…we have been enjoying some lovely weather for this time of year and I will take it!!
