I’m super excited to be sharing the relaunch of my Welcome Home Quilt pattern today! This super cute beginner friendly quilt pattern now comes in three handy sizes. And, it’s layer cake, fat eighth (and fat quarter) friendly. The new quilt I made uses fabrics from my stash along with these sweet Serendipity fabrics by Minki Kim. I love adding a few stash fabrics to precut bundles to personalise the quilt I’m making. The new scrappy house blocks are crazy cute! They sew up in just a couple of easy steps which make this quilt really quick to get done. The Welcome Home Quilt is perfect as a gi ..read more

Skipper Mini Quilt

Way back in February 2016 I wrote a post talking about how I was going to quilt through a book. The book I chose was Amber Johnson’s book Vintage Vibe. I had thought I would be further along with the quilts but I definitely haven’t given up. My latest project is a mini quilt I made recently using Amber’s Skipper quilt pattern. Amber has been hosting a sew along for the Skipper quilt over on Instagram. It would have been awesome fun to join in and make a larger quilt but I knew I didn’t have time. My compromise was to make a mini quilt. My friend Amy Sinibaldi designs beautiful fabric. Her c ..read more

I can’t resist a good bunny, halloween or Christmas print and I definitely have a few stashed away so that when the mood takes hold I can sew up some holiday projects like this sweet little Easter basket without making a special trip to the shop. I’ve been doing a little bit of easter sewing this week including this Easy Easter Pillow. Click here if you missed it and want to check it out. Today’s tutorial is all about fabric baskets! Although, they are particularly tricky to photograph so I will get straight to the information you need… Materials Needed: 1 fat qu ..read more

I looked at my calendar on the weekend and realised it is just over a month until Easter. Perfect time for some Easter sewing! I have a remake of my Wool Felt Easter Basket tutorial to share later in the week so stay tuned for that one. Today though I’m sharing a new tutorial for an easy Easter egg themed throw pillow. It’s scrap friendly and quite quick to make because it has a flanged edge rather than traditional binding or piping. The pillow uses reverse appliqué to make the Easter egg shape. It’s a method I shared a few years ago in an Easter table runner over on the Sew Mama Sew blog. Th ..read more

I had lunch with my lovely friend Kirsty from Bonjour Quilts recently and while we were in the area we couldn’t resist a trip to Ikea. Like a moth to a flame we wandered mesmerised into the hallowed halls of bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms and living areas. Like all good Ikea shops I just needed one thing.… serviettes. I figure you’ve already guessed that’s not all I left with! Quite apart from the other gazillion things I all of a sudden ‘needed’ I picked up this denim Ormkaktus pillow cover. They seriously cost just $5.00! As soon as I saw it I knew it would be brilliant for a quick and easy ..read more

Log Cabin Quilt Love

Log Cabin quilts are certainly doing the rounds at the moment. There’s been quilt a few sew-alongs happening on Instagram which is always fun and, making one has been on my quilting bucket list for way too long. Log Cabin quilts are just the type of quilt I love. They are steeped in tradition, perfect for scraps and so so pretty! I can’t believe I hadn’t made one before now! I hadn’t put away this pile of coral, peachy, pink fabric scraps after making over an Ikea cushion. I thought they’d look great in a quilt to match my daughters bedroom. Just a few days later I saw that Camille ..read more
