How we made a mixed-media 2D animation and live-action music video. One of our favourite pieces of 2D animation that we’ve done over the years was made with live-action film director Sameer Patel, music label Magnetic North Melodies and the band Heavyball. They made an extraordinary cover version of Bronski Beat’s “Smalltown Boy” and wanted to bring something unexpected to the mix to help it to stand out from the crowd. Sameer Pa ..read more

It was so exciting for us to be back in the room with so many people again since the pandemic and also to experiment with our first ever livestream. My name is Poppy, and I am one of the recent additions to the Fettle Animation team. Since working at Fettle, I’ve enjoyed working in a creative space and seeing first-hand the animation creation process. I have contributed to the action by creating a presentation for Sheffield University showcasing Fettle’s work, working with the Open University to edit our script on the Greek tragedy, Medea, and promoting Fettle’s work online. My favourite part of working here has been networking with the film and TV tycoons of Yorkshire. It’s important to represent the north in media and I am proud to be ..read more
