Almu Redondo, art director of the Star Wars Visions Vol 2 episode ‘Screecher’s Reach’ won the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy® for Production Design last week. In October, Lead Background Artist at Lighthouse Studios, Sarah Sloyer, delivered two wonderful illustration workshops as part of Bookville 2023 – a Kilkenny initiative that celebrates books and encourages youngsters to get involved in reading, writing and artistic endeavours. RTE have commissioned Distillery Films to produce an animated film as part of their 2024 short film series and theme of ‘Home’. Directed by Kayvon Darabi-Fard (My Father’s Dragon, The Last Set) and Produced by Jonathan Clarke (Sullivan Sails), “Envelope” follows the exchange of handwritten letters between two generations, from one writer at home and another in search of finding their own place in the world, to call home.
