Rugby continues to grow in South America. The latest case in point is the scheduling of the annual mid-year internationals. Paraguay will be a part of the 2024 July Internationals. Los Yacarés will play at home against two touring test teams from other continents for the first time. Paraguay will play host to both touring teams in Asunción. For the Americas the road to Rugby World Cup 2027 starts in July. Canada, USA, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay will all play home test matches as part of the 2024 July Internationals. The USA will play in Chicago against Romania and in Washington, DC against Scotland. Canada will face the same two in reverse order. The date of the USA vs Romania was announced as July 05 but has been changed to now be listed as July 04 by USA Rugby. Chile has secured an unprecedented three-match home series for July. Previous July International series have seen Los Cóndores struggling for matches. However, now with the team having debuted at the Rugby World Cup Chile Rugby has successfully locked-in a mouth-watering series of home fixtures for Los Cóndores. The continued growth of rugby in South America continues to break new ground. The latest new development sees a brand new tour confirmed. As part of the 2024 July Internationals, Belgium will tour the continent. The Black Devils will face Brazil, Chile and Paraguay. The official dates and venues for the tour are forthcoming. Brazil has confirmed home matches against Belgium and Hong Kong in July. Chile and Paraguay are soon to announce their home matches. Uruguay is set for an unheard of home three match series in July. Los Teros will take-on three Tier 1 teams. France, Argentina and Scotland will all play test matches in Uruguay as part of the annual mid-year internationals, or the July Internationals. Los Teros will play the three matches at two different venues. Los Dogos dominated the American Raptors in Colorado on Sunday. The team from Córdoba, Argentina ran over the Raptors in easily completing a bonus point win. The 63-14 victory featured eleven tries to Los Dogos; hooker Tomás Bartolini scored four of them. The hooker’s performance is tied for second as the most points scored in a Super Rugby Americas / Super Liga Americana de Rugby (SLAR) match.
