I've been watching this team for a long time (well over 12 years now?), and it's clear that the roster construction is no longer in pace with the rest of the league like in past years.
The teams that are making a push to the conference finals show that success in today's NBA demands more size and athleticism across the whole roster while still retaining shot making.
I thought it may be instructive to analyze the weaknesses in our roster and see what the team can improve. Some of this may be well known already to people who frequent the sub, but I felt it useful to gather all thoughts in one p ..read more

Thoughts?
JV is a legit 6'11, 265 who just averaged 12 and 9 in 23mins a game. He's durable (averaged 73 games each season the last 5 years). He's a veteran inside presence who can set big screens, score and rebound. With CP3 and Klay uncertainty it would be nice to have some diversity in our offense. I love TJD and he's been an excellent lob threat, provides great vertical spacing but has not quite developed a face up or back to basket game. JV can mentor in that aspect.

I think the warriors should try to sign Valanciunas to play 5, trade looney and move Draymond to 4. TJD becomes backup center. This move gives us interior presence and excellent rebounding. Thoughts ?

Dubs season might be over, but the NBA Playoffs continue. Feel free to use this thread to watch & discuss the playoffs with your fellow Dubs fans (Also gives me an excuse to get rid of the Play-in PGT from the stickied post)

Not at all," Shelburne said on 95.7 The Game's Willard and Dibs. "I think he's pretty much—look, it's gonna get complicated because of his extension talks and how much money they have and but I think they'll do everything they can to keep him. I mean, I don't think they want to even talk about him."
The Warriors will undoubtedly offer Kuminga an extension, but this is expected to be a tricky financial offseason in Golden State. Klay Thompson is set for free agency for the first time in his career, and the front office has to decide what to do with Chris Paul's non-guaranteed $30 million c ..read more

I believe the most important thing the Warriors can do this offseason, and their hihgest probability path to another ring with Steph Curry is building a GREAT team defense around Steph and a complimentary offensive player—could be Klay, could be Lavine, could be someone of lesser reputation than either of them. But it isn't Wiggins, it isn't CP3 and it's probably not Kuminga (which doesn't necessarily mean any of them need to be traded they just need to be part of a great defense.) Each of them would have to be better defensively, particularly with regard to supporting team defense.

I've been meaning to ask this since a friend of mine (who's always liked to take a "glass 3/4 empty" view on the Warriors) said that watching the playoffs has made it clear how much work the Warriors have to do. Which they surely do, but at the same time watching the playoffs has made me think there are a lot of teams still playing that are no better than the Warriors.
So, how many teams are a tier above the W's--how many would you basically expect them to lose a series to? And how many would you be confident that they could beat in a 7-game series?
Bonus question: what teams that didn't make ..read more
