Was looking his stats and he made significant progress shooting the last couple months of the season.
These are obviously cherry-picked, but he did seem to turn the corner in February.
With his defensive prowess, merely respectable shooting numbers seems like it would make him good enough to start.

You all want to tank for Cooper Flagg. Fine. I hate it. But fine. I have a compromise.
Grayson Allen shot 48% or whatever from three. Why? Because teams had to guard the Suns middy.
Do middys win modern games? Not likely without KD and Book. Can we develop Scoot and Shae to be much more dominant from the middy in one season? I think so.
If teams were forced to guard Scoot middies, then we can surround him with shooters in 3 years and be competitive. He can also be a competitive 3 point shooter in 3 years. But his middy is weak on an NBA level, and honestly so is Shae's.
Shae and Scoot already ..read more

It’s pretty obvious on this sub (and probably every sub of teams are that are doing badly) that there’s a huge disparity of views around tanking. I thought it might be worth starting a thread to debate that here.
I’ll put my own point of view out there first. I totally understand the appeal of building through the draft. For a team like Portland, it probably represents the best chance of unearthing a superstar. There’s also something very satisfying about rooting for the guy your team drafted (e.g. Dame).
However, drafting is such an imprecise science and the idea of deliberately tanking is c ..read more

1) Scoot wins Most Improved Player next season. 2) Lottery gods favor us and we end up with Sarr who proceeds to win ROY. 3) Chauncey gets possessed by the ghost of Red Auerbach. 4) We have a healthy squad and do not tank. 5) Scoot x Shaedon duo makes an impactful playoff push.

Turns out the league (us) should value players drafted by the heat more. Crazy. A 6-6 scoring wing with vet moves and a shooting passing big that could play next to ayton would look awwwwfully nice rn.

Several former blazers are contributing in the playoffs right now. Nearly a starting lineup of Dame, CJ, Nance, and Nurk.
For years Olshey would make a fringe move to try to get a piece that would fit with our backcourt. With Derrick Jones Jr and Nance contributing as they are, you can see what Neil was hoping for. For whatever reason, it just never worked out in Portland.
I'd toss Josh Hart in that group too, but he was after N.O. seems like they're all playing better now than they did for the Blazers.
