We are starved for All Star level play in Detroit. We need not one but possibly two additions to our starting lineup. I’m bored at work and just had a couple initial thoughts without any type of deep dive into specifics
Scenario 1, we trade for Trae Young and sign Paul George. In this scenario we would be moving on from Ivey as part of the trade package, not just him. And PG is the type of player that I would prefer to over pay to come to Detroit. Because we will have to over pay any FA. I’d rather it be a guy like him than a Tobias Harris type. A starting lineup that would have PG, Trae and ..read more

Before I say anything, I’d like to say monty definitely didn’t do the best job this season. He had multiple blunders that I’m not gonna get into because I’m sure you already know.
However, I don’t think it’s all his fault for this “core four” not really working this year. Ivey and ausar both thrive cutting off the ball and can’t shoot, and JD totally clogs the paint up, therefore not enabling Monty to really utilize those two guys with Cade being the primary ball handler.
He absolutely could have done things like have them run with the basketball (showtime lakers-esque, just bad at basketball ..read more

This sub truly baffles me sometimes. We have a total of 4-5 (that might be generous) nba players on our roster right now. And all I’m seeing are threads saying you’d pass on Trae, BI, Mitchell, KAT, Lavine, hell even PG. These guys are all star caliber guys - and while they probably wouldn’t fix all our problems, they would be an immediate upgrade and would sure as hell help us move in the right direction.
So I’m genuinely asking - who would you prefer we target, even if it’s not the most realistic. Because at this point I’m not convinced yall would even want Luka or Giannis on our team.

To preface this post, I want to say I don’t believe this is our best option, and that this is purely a hypothetical. As many have noted, this is a particularly weak draft year, so our top 5 pick isn’t really as valuable as it could be. This may lead you to believe a trade is our best option, but what if we drafted Bronny James. He’ll be available anywhere in the top 5, so it doesn’t really matter if we get screwed on lottery odds again. If we draft Bronny we could possibly have 3+ years of a high caliber #1 option in LeBron, or even just a star to pair with Cade if he does happen to regress s ..read more

Why not, he needs to be on the east coast to have his best chance against Jokic. It would be awesome if he ended up like a mix of Jordan's clutch win championships as receipts, he's already doing LeBron numbers and speaking of that, he would shatter Bron's records if he wanted to play as long. If something good this caliber doesn't happen for Cade he will probably go play in Dallas with Luka. What do I know I only watched Pistons this year.
