photo by Eric Kelley We started realizing several years ago, that drab dance floors were not the way to go. We put so much into the details, from subtle to obvious, so how could something smack in the middle of the reception not deserve the same? And, with our in house printing company, Lettered Olive, customizing patterns and details for our clients there was no reason not to. Enter, dramatic dance floors. So, we though for this romantic Italian affair, a dance floor that resembled antique Italian tile would be a perfect design. photos by Corbin Gurkin Since this tented reception for 300 peop ..read more

photo by Corbin Gurkin As we have said before many times, it’s all about the details. And, it’s often all the extra details that people remember. Yes, of course, we design large scale, and consider how everything looks together. The details are what make the lasting impressions, and they are just so fun. We have talked a lot about guest bags and how we “brand” those elements for our clients. So, today, we share just a few small fun details that you can use for ideas at your next event. photo by Anne Rhett Since many of our clients have destination “weekends”, one of our most popular creations ..read more

Such a fun night was had by all at our first event in Austin, Texas. This rehearsal dinner, held at the Four Seasons Austin celebrates the locale, and the season, as well as the couple. Photos are by Megan Kay Photography. Cocktail hour details include “longhorn” decor, and a local Mariachi band as a nod to the Texas location. Afterwards, dinner is held in one of our signature tents. A blue and white avian pattern that began with the invitations by Lettered Olive, is featured throughout the decor. Since spring was starting with a bang, a custom floral and fauna theme provides perfect detai ..read more

Get ready for a beautiful feature today. Courtney and Jamie married in the fall at Runnymede, just outside of Charleston. With sweeping river views, and a blank slate for us to create any look our clients can imagine, it’s one of our favorite spots. Courtney, who is an interior designer by trade, was a great collaborator. So, you can see many details that reflect her desire for a chic but on the more casual side- a naturally designed wedding . Tec Petaja is responsible for the lovely imagery. Lettered Olive really captures the feel for the day with the paper pieces. For example, varying shad ..read more

This luxury wedding designed at the Gaillard Center in Charleston, was the first big event after their renovation. And, this was our event before the Covid shutdown, and our second wedding for the Mungo family. You may have also seen it featured in Charleston Magazine, with this shot on the cover. Our interior designer bride came to us with the color palette. She also wanted to include lots of natural elements, we think we hit it spot on for her. Thank you to Liz Banfield for the images. Lettered Olive took the green, white, and black palette and created patterns and pieces to work together ..read more

photo by Anne Rhett Engagement season is in full swing! The holidays still prove to be the perfect time to pop the question. And, we are happy to be here and help with that process from the beginning! photo by Corbin Gurkin When a Nor’Easter thwarted our groom’s plans to propose in the Bahamas… We quickly shifted the surprise to Lake Austin. Here, we created as much of a tropical feel as possible with a private boat ride for the actual proposal. photo by Corbin Gurkin photo by Corbin Gurkin Another key to the engagements that we love is having the couple celebrate with friends and family after ..read more

photo by Liz Banfield Recently, we posted about what will be in and out for 2024 weddings. Mini items are a big wedding trend in 2024. We love the mini trend for years, so we are excited to come up with many new concepts. For this destination wedding, Lettered Olive designed pocket sized guest booklets so guests could carry them with them for quick reference. photo by KT Merry Another option in the wedding paper family to consider doing in mini are your ceremony programs. It’s unexpected and can be very chic while also saving money. We hate when we see all of the programs left behind, but with ..read more

They are gaining huge popularity and we love the one we designed in Tuscany, Italy. photos by Megan Kay Photography and KT Merry Another HUGE trend for our clients in 2024 are “themed” welcome parties and after parties. For example, last year we did a couple of Western themed Welcomes, and a super fun After Party in PJ’s. It wouldn’t be winter wedding season without sharing this oh so pretty fete at Montage Palmetto Bluff . Not only is it filled with so many custom details, but, the tailored crispness of the color palette creates a dreamy day. And, the seaside location is what makes a “winter” wedding in the Lowcountry perfect. Photos by Corbin Gurkin. Lettered Olive did an amazing job creating a fresh take on tradition with this invitation suite. While the rectangle shape, paper, and black calligraphied ink fall along the modest vein, the embroidered emerald green velvet belly band, and gold edging add a mod ..read more

With the holidays around the corner, some of our favorite holiday tabletop tips can help inspire some of your hosting duties. And, the holidays usually inspire new ideas for us. Here, in areas where warmer temps are possible through the season, dining outside means using your surroundings as decor. Thank you for Peter Frank Edwards for these photos, from our photo shoot with Charleston Magazine. Cheese plates and over the top charcuterie are still all over social media. So, why not an elegant cheese plate starter as the first course? Not typical turkey at all, and yet such a perfect start. T ..read more
