The restoration of this 1952 MG TD is now well on its way. As you will see in the photos, the body was in good shape and only needed minor repairs. Luckily everything we need to do the repairs was available from Moss Motors. The paint and body was done here locally by Kens Body Shop, and like usual, they did a fantastic job. It has been some time since we have given an update on this car so you will see lots of progress in the photos. The car is now a running and driving car and on its way to upholstery. Once completed, we will be putting plenty of road miles on the car ensuring it is ready to ..read more

This is one of those cool cars we just have to blog about and share with the world. This time it’s a 1950 Allard K2 that was delivered brand-new to Moss Motors at 3200 West Olympic Blvd., Los Angeles CA. We have invoices and shipping records that show it was sold new to Al Moss, and sold by him to a Dr. Henry M. Ure of Manhattan Beach, CA. These are very rare cars with just 119 built, and to have one in our shop is truly amazing. This car was delivered sans engine and gearbox but was modified to fit a Mercury flat-head V8 engine. The car currently has a Cadillac V8 overhead-valve engine fitted ..read more

Restoration Project Update: 1962 Triumph Italia

We are now deep into the restoration of Triumph Italia #312. This 1962 Italia arrived as an amazingly untouched and very complete car, but unfortunately has suffered a great deal of rust damage. For the body restoration, we turned to our good friend Alex at Hot Rod Avenue in Atascadero, CA. Alex is a very talented metal craftsman and hand built every body panel that needed repair in-house. We are very fortunate to have someone as talented here locally, and even more fortunate that he was willing to tackle this challenging project. I’m pretty sure at times he had wished he hadn’t, as the projec ..read more

Restoration Project: 1967 Jaguar XKE Coupe

We are deep into another fun restoration here at British Sports Cars. This time it’s a 1967 Jaguar XKE Coupe. This project is for a long-time client and friend of the shop that has had the car for many years. This is a Series 1 car but is unusual because it’s a non-covered headlamp Series 1. Between 1967 and 1968, Jaguar was gearing up for production of the Series 2 XKE which officially came out in 1968. Midway through 1967 they changed from covered headlamps to un-covered headlamps, which would become standard on Series 2 cars due to regulations. As months went by, Jaguar was getting ready to ..read more

Restoration Project: 1975 Triumph TR6 Complete!

Restored to all its former glory. We just finished up our restoration of this beautiful, Delft Blue 1975 Triumph TR6. This is a two-owner car that our client bought when he moved here to the US from England many years ago. The car was only a few years old at that time and provided lots of fond memories for our client. He has owned the car the entire time, but as you can see from when it arrived here at BSC, it had fallen into a sorry state. The car had sat outside for many years and had some rust, but overall was a great candidate for restoration. It was still wearing all its original paint an ..read more
