What is Brain Tissue Donation? When your child is first diagnosed with brain cancer, you may be asked if you want to donate your child’s tumor tissue. This is a very personal decision to make, especially at a time when you are confronted with so many decisions and questions. At three years old, Haydin loved her family and playing in her kitchen. She had already hurdled many things in those three short years. She was born at 29 weeks and spent 107 days in the NICU at Centennial Childrens Hospital. For most of that time the doctors weren’t sure on why and what was causing her to have the issues she was having. Brayden was diagnosed in March 2023 with a Pineal Germinoma. Which is a rare but very treatable brain tumor. He was diagnosed in the ER at Centennial Children’s hospital. Brayden was sick in late February of 2023 and diagnosed with strep. His symptoms were tiredness, stomach ache, and headache. A few days later he began vomiting in the mornings. We went from primary care to another Children’s hospital and finally told he had a virus. Centennial was our 4th or 5th attempt to figure out what was wrong. Sadie is 11 years old. She was diagnosed with High Risk Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on 4/3/23, this diagnosis was very hard, we had been to many drs, ers and urgent cares.
