I ran a race! Like actually raced a race. I hadn’t done an all-out effort since I ran the Hot Chocolate Houston 15K last February, and I hadn’t raced a half marathon since the City of Lakes Half Marathon in Minneapolis in September 2018. I was getting a little nervous heading into the 3M Half Marathon, because conditions seemed to be gearing up for a perfect race day. That should have made me the opposite of nervous, right?! Well HELLO THERE! It’s been a long time since I’ve written a blog post; months since I’ve posted at all, and almost a year since I’ve blogged regularly (I never even wrote a 2018 NYC Marathon recap!) I’ve only done three races so far this year – a 15K in Houston in February, the BolderBoulder 10K in May, and the Zilker Relays in September (recaps to come?), and since then I’ve been running but just for fun and not training for any races.
