Ibutton Automatically downloading

Dear all, I'm working as a research assistant in a thermal lab and I'm trying to see if there is a way to automatically download iButton (https://www.mouser.sg/new/analog-devices/maxim-ibutton-devices/) data to csv files. The thing is that we have a lot of the iButtons data and it tends to be a bottle neck. Does anyone have any idea how can I go about it. Was thinking of programming a software to do it automatically. submitted by /u/junhao5566 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Simple POE cam

Hello, Looking for help selecting a simple POE cam that I can use to monitor some other hardware components. I've tried ordering these small ones off amazon but they did not seem to work without their special app, and many people had issues according to the reviews. https://www.amazon.com/Revotech-Camera-Indoor-Security-I706-POE/dp/B096VK398F/ I've also tried the m5 PoE Cam, but it seems more complicated than my needs with the requirement to burn the software on it before it would work. Are there any good small PoE cams that will simply work when connected to a network so I can stream locally ..read more

LoRa without gateway for a single device

I've just stumbled upon on LoRa so I don't have any deep knowledge regarding this topic so before I dig into this a bit more I would be grateful for an answer to my question - is it possible to use LoRa technology to connect two devices without a gateway? Will this allow to send data between these two devices the are located around 500m from each other in the urban area? If not - what would be an alternative in your option? I do not need to send a lot of data - let's say 100 bytes is max, speed is not crucial. submitted by /u/R0dod3ndron [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Can anyone in the community recommend a standalone 4G camera (Like a Reolink Go or Arlo Go2) that supports SGP .02 (M2M profile) rather than the consumer SGP .22 standard that the two cams I mentioned support? submitted by /u/TheScottishMoscow [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Giving an AI assistant an animated face on MagicMirror display

I have seen all of the individual pieces needed for this project but the scope, pipeline, and implementation are a mystery to me. Google results are a cesspit of dubious marketing claims as soon as "AI" is a search term. Any credible resources on this? proof of concept would be an AI assistant of any kind synced to a speech synthesizer and lip animator on an avatar. Getting it to display on magic mirror with a module would not be the hard part. submitted by /u/MLuminos [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Is the Qualcomm QCC730 a big deal for IOT?

I’m new to IOT but recently saw that the Qualcomm QCC730 gives wifi capabilities at an 88% reduction of power usage. This may be a silly question but is that a big deal? If yes, what kind of new capabilities does it allow for that weren’t possible before? Thanks for any insight. submitted by /u/lifelifebalance [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
