I recently invested in some new table tennis equipment—blade, rubbers, glue, etc.—but I've never assembled a racket myself. I'm a bit anxious about getting it right and don't want to mess up my new gear.
Is there anyone in NYC who has experience in assembling rackets and would be willing to help me out? I'd greatly appreciate any guidance or if someone could even assist me in person. Thanks in advance:)

Hello TT masters! My first question here. I was into Japanese penhold style in my early days (past century, to be clear). Last year I had a comeback. TT changes sooo much that in a month of practice, I’ve switched to Chinese CS. My choice of blade was Yasaka Ma-Lin off + with Rakza 7 soft on BH and Rakza X on FH. I though I was doing well, but my balls often gets pushed far from the table with minimal effort. Some guys recommended me Hurricane 3 for better feeling and control and recently I’ve had made the change. Indeed, I’m feeling so much confident and my shots are at the right spot most o ..read more

I'm having so much trouble with it. I've done it on accident a couple times and wish I knew how to do it on purpose, thank you!

I know most people would elude to the Rakza Z based on the title of my comment. But hear me out:
I have used the Rakza 7 soft for 6 months now and there are several things I like about it. Great for defensive strokes and cuts, but also springy enough for punchy blocks. Okayish for close to the table battles. However in specific cases in game where I want to open up into a top spin from an underspin, it some times fails me.
Sure in some cases my foot work is off and that is a contributing factor. However, are there any other rubber that would better suit my demand. I am not looking for a monst ..read more

A friend of mine is looking for a short pimple (SP) for his hitting style. He starts playing SP recently and twiddles a lot, sometimes playing short pips on FH and sometimes on BH. He wants something that doesn't require him to spend weeks to adapt. I've heard that some SPs allow flicking and looping.
Are there any recommendations?

how does one put equipment under username here?
are there shakehanders who move their rubber up a bit like penholders? I want to shave off a few grams as possible cos my fh rubber xiom tau 2 is heavy.
finally found a bh rubber I will be using for a while, skyline 3-60 35deg 2.1mm thick. What's that metallic sound I'm hearing? my bh stroke is typical elbow forward, then short fast strong stroke like flick movement but on forearm not wrist. racket is allwood 7ply xiom extreme s.

I'm the one making them by the way, but since my first couple went over well, if there's no official ban, I'd probably be tempted to make more since I like the anime a decent amount and this subrreddit offers a way to "powerscale" the anime. People seem to be on the fence about it, so I think this would be a good way to put it to a vote on this subreddit whether it's okay to keep posting anime related table tennis questions or to just ban them altogether. I'm good either way; I just want to know what this subreddit as a whole thinks about this situation before I decide to either make more pos ..read more
