I'll start this off by saying that I really want the M2 because I'm in love with the design but idk whether it's worth the money or not. For context, I have very light workload. I have a new iMac with the 4 ports on the back, and I have run out of "direct connect" requirements. I have multiple peripherals that require a direct plug-in to work. Moonlander keyboard, Stream Deck, etc, and I was wondering if there is a hub that would work in this situation. I have one of the "cheaper" ones, and it doesn't work for them. It plugs into one of the USB C plugs and is not powered on its own. This may be my issue; I am not sure. This post is for the people who bought the M3 Macbook Pro with 8 gb RAM. So far, all I've been seeing is literal flak---mainly targeted towards its memory---coming from people who I assume have not even used this model. I want to know how it actually is (i.e., performance-wise) from people who use it. If you could please give me your workflow, I'd greatly appreciate it!
