Why don't people talk about how amazing Safari tab groups are? It's way better than the hyped Arc

I'm mindblown that I am just finding out about how Safari tab groups work now... After using it for a week I must say that Apple's implementation is just so superior to anything in the market right now and it is absolutely just what I was looking for in order to be able to manage my online workspace and tab hoarding habits in a synchronized way between mobile and desktop. I guess it's just the way it is: native apps don't get all the hype and marketing that other apps get (like Arc browser, which I gave up), but more often than not they are just superior. I guess I'll try the same with apple ..read more

M1 or M2?

I'll start this off by saying that I really want the M2 because I'm in love with the design but idk whether it's worth the money or not. For context, I have very light workload. I'll only be using my laptop to browse, watch movies and videos, use Google docs, make presentations, attend meetings and send mails etc. but I'm doubtful about getting the base model because all the reviews said that it's recommended to get 16gb Ram with 512gb ssd. Unfortunately, I cannot afford anything other than the base model which is making me think that I should go for m1 instead. The problem is, I feel like m1 ..read more

Peripherals that must be plugged in directly - Question

I have a new iMac with the 4 ports on the back, and I have run out of "direct connect" requirements. I have multiple peripherals that require a direct plug-in to work. Moonlander keyboard, Stream Deck, etc, and I was wondering if there is a hub that would work in this situation. I have one of the "cheaper" ones, and it doesn't work for them. It plugs into one of the USB C plugs and is not powered on its own. This may be my issue; I am not sure. Is there a better type of device I should buy to make these peripherals think they are directly plugged in (and work)? The one I have is this: UtechSm ..read more

Any thoughts on why "System Data" is taking up 144.03 GB of data on my Mac Mini? I use OneDrive for all my file storage, so I have minimal storage on-device... https://preview.redd.it/9einmyg1dmzc1.png?width=461&format=png&auto=webp&s=a5eb63842912b6a77ce13cbf0a0e2ad291f8c43e submitted by /u/mclaughlinsm [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

How is the base (8gb) M3 Macbook Pro for you?

This post is for the people who bought the M3 Macbook Pro with 8 gb RAM. So far, all I've been seeing is literal flak---mainly targeted towards its memory---coming from people who I assume have not even used this model. I want to know how it actually is (i.e., performance-wise) from people who use it. If you could please give me your workflow, I'd greatly appreciate it! I've also been seeing posts on "future-proofing" Macbooks. For the same users, do you think this model will hold up for several years? Do you see yourself switching devices/models soon? Thanks so much and I hope to hear honest ..read more
