Hello! I’ve been studying and following Hinduism far a while, and I have a constant annoying problem. Since I started, I’ve been pulled back and forth from Lord Shiva to Lord Vishnu (as Krishna and Rama). I wear rudrakshas, and use a rudraksha mala for mantras. Mahadev draws me as his meditative nature, and chanting Om Namah Shivaya has very calming effects for me. But I connect more with the personalities of Rama and Krishna, and also enjoy their mantras (such as Om Shri ramaya namaha, and the maha-mantra). I just feel like there’s a conflict being drawn to Rama and Krishna as personalities ..read more

So I know people usually like to refer to dharma as their life purpose for their current incarnation. Is it possible that your objective life purpose is not meant to be very grand? For example, would it be realistic for someone to have the dharma of a beggar? (or have being a miserable person as their life purpose?)

I am trying to find a credible source for a list of satvik, rajasic, and tamsic foods. Everywhere I look, I see different lists and sometimes conflicting information. For instance, some sources say that carrots are not satvik because they come from the ground and others say that they are.
What is the best resource for determining which foods are and are not satvik?

I know the basic ideas of these concepts but I'd love some piece of media that dives a little further into the philosophies, differences, and implications. Thanks everyone.
