Picture Ledge Update with The Poster Store

The front sitting area in my house is one of my go to spots to sit and have a coffee. And I love coffee, so I clearly love this spot. Mind you, it’s hardly that peaceful with two kiddos running around but the light oozes in and the kids love sitting in the window and watching the dog across the street. When I originally set up this space, I collected a variety of art I already had around the house, from my old office, master and family room for the picture ledges. I knew I didn’t have to commit to anything since it was so easy to rearrange with no extra holes in the walls. So, after a year of ..read more

Man, it’s been close to a month since we started to self isolate our family and wow, it has been a wild ride. Besides it being challenging for just a single person, pile on a toddler, newborn, teacher hubby working from home with no office space and mostly crappy weather and you got a full-blown crazy house. But, I have to say, this crazy pandemic has had its silver linings. We are very grateful to have the luxury of actually self-quarantining. Plus, My house has never been so organized, we have never cooked and crafted this much in our lives and we have spent some serious quality time that w ..read more

Owning a home ain’t no joke. Besides the crazy process of buying a home, you then inherit the never-ending to-do list of things to fix, renovate or worry about. Plus, the challenge of being able to afford it all! That’s why I have partnered with BMO to share with you a series around mortgage affordability. To kick off the series, let’s flashback to why we decided to buy our home in the first place! When we bought our home almost ten years ago, we were both still living with our parents, so, we had the luxury of taking our time and being picky. The market thankfully wasn’t as nuts as it is t ..read more

Mamaroo, Dock-a-Tot, Keekaroo – to someone without a baby, it could sound like your speaking another language! And back before Finn was born, I legitimately felt that way. I had no clue what I was talking about or what I actually needed. Thankfully, Jeanine from Three Lambs Baby Boutique set me straight and guided me through this whole new world with my original registry consult. Over three years and two kiddos later, I still find myself heading back to her store to see what’s new and the next best thing for the babes, lifestyle and family. But there are nine standout items we regist ..read more

Toddler Monitor

When we first moved Finn to a big boy bed, I was terrified of him getting into something when we were sleeping now that he could get out of bed on his own. Thankfully, we didn’t have any incidents but I was scared to death on several occasions when my toddler was standing centimetres away from my face waiting for me to wake up. I knew before an incident did occur I needed to find a solution to keep our minds at ease at night. Not only could he get up to no good while we were sleeping, he knows how to unlock the front door, so I needed something to alert us when he got out of bed. Cue t ..read more

The first month with a newborn is a blur. You spend a majority of your time at home alone with your little one and the baby is either eating, sleeping or crying. If your nursing like I did with both babes, you also need constant access to be able to nurse on demand, cause those little nuggets are still eating on average every three hours. These past four weeks I have been living in a few pieces I couldn’t live without I wanted to share with you if you are ready to pop! All of these items are functional, comfortable and leave you looking somewhat put together in lounge clothes. Lululemon Al ..read more

My Nursing Station Essentials

Nursing can be such a struggle. I know personally because, with Finn, I battled for weeks to get us in sync for a couple of reasons. I not only was a first-time mom and had no clue what I was doing, but it was also super painful because his latch was wonky and for the half of his first month he was under light therapy for jaundice. But, once we got our mojo I breastfed Finn exclusively until he was about a year and a half. With Zoe, I was a seasoned vet and it was still a challenge! Knowing now what I was in for, I dedicated time to set us up for success each nursing session and had all th ..read more

Newborn items I needed to buy

As soon as I hit the nesting stage this fall, )or what I like to call the stage where you know things are about to get crazier than your already crazy life so you are buckling down to try to prepare for the chaos) it got me digging out all the things of Finns when he was first born and distinguishing what I will actually need vs. things I can pass along or donate. I was surprised to find there were a few things that I either needed to replace, pick up that I didn’t buy the first time around or new items on the market. So, because I have this unexpected time to kill with this baby taking its ti ..read more

Big Boy Bed With Beddy’s Bed

Since moving the little man to a big boy bed right when he was two, we didn’t expect him to help make the bed in the morning. That was mom’a job. But, now that he is a little older, we have been giving him more and more responsibility including help make his bed in the morning. With regular bedding and sheets it would have been challenging asking for an almost three year old to help get the chore done. But, with Beddy’s Beds, with a few quick zips, his big boy bed goes from chaos to tidy in a snap! We love that he feels accomplished but also gives me one less thing to do (mind you I still ..read more
