After 9 years and 2.5 million visits, MontrealDogBlog.com to retire blog Hi, I’m Nat Lauzon – founder of Montreal Dog Blog.  It is with a sad but grateful heart, that I announce the Montreal Dog Blog website will be coming to a close. MDB launched in September 2010 – inspired by a 4lb dog named Flea.  She was a puppy mill rescue that changed my life and I felt compelled to create a space that would educate people about the importance of pet adoption and of abolishing puppy mills in Quebec.   Quickly, a solid team of like-minded bloggers formed.  Over the years, these v ..read more

Dr. Amanda Glew: Doga and other things

By: Dr. Amanda Glew With  the advent of Yoga becoming more and more popular, I have decided to join the bandwagon and make our downstairs (which used to be a playroom) into a studio. I have collected mirrors from garage sales, and placed them haphazardly throughout the room, and invested in a smart TV. With the help of environment electronique, (I am  not very tech savvy), to be able to talk to it most of the time, I can now select YouTube videos and do Yoga, Zumba or any exercise to my heart’s content. Of course, it is more fun to do it with someone, so recently my friend Tracy and ..read more

How do you spark your creativity? I like to do it by pulling myself out of my usual routine and putting my brain – and usually body – into new environments. I like to believe that this strips away the superficial and routine thought processes that I thought were important and forces me to focus more on the core matters at hand. Another one of my strategies is to jump into groups of creative people. So, please allow me to tell you that people who work in animal rescue and welfare organizations are amongst the most creative and innovative people that I have ever met. I can’t tell you why. Maybe ..read more

Montreal Dog Blog

by: Nat Lauzon with Mike Grenier Recently, Montreal Dog Blog had the opportunity to tour the grounds of A Horse Tale Rescue. Situated on 5 acres of land in Vaudreuil Dorion, A Horse Tale Rescue (AHT) rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes horses in need. If the horse cannot find placement in a loving home, this rescue provides a safe haven for them for the rest of their lives.  But as MDB discovered, the rescue’s impact is much greater than that.  On a crisp April day, we head to Vaudreuil-Dorion to visit A Horse Tale rescue.  We are welcomed by Mike Grenier, Executive Director (a ..read more

MONTREAL – July 19, 2019  — Animal rights activists were present at the town meeting at the the Whiteside Taylor Centre on July 17th to protest a cruel animal testing facility in the town. The activists breached the meeting on a proposed controversial daycare center, and where Mayor Maria Tutino was present. “We did so out of frustration that the Town of Baie D’Urfe, along with the provincial and federal governments, have done nothing to address the systemic cruelty inside ITR Labs, a cruel anima ..read more
