Some cool decor in the bar area of Smoky Rose in Dallas.
Ed's niece took us here the last time we visited her house as it's one of the restaurants nearby. The restaurant is beautiful. Great decor, a charming patio area, and a wonderful menu. Everything we had was fantastic.
If you're in the area, make time to stop. The brisket tacos were the bomb!

This is the Adams Building in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma.
It was built in 1928 and was originally a hotel. It was built to attract businessmen who came to Tulsa for the first International Petroleum Exposition. When it first opened, it advertised itself as the "Address of Distinction" and boasted 50 air-conditioned rooms.
The building has 13 stories with a full basement and penthouse. It is the 18th tallest building in the city.
Look at the beautiful detail. The facade of the building is covered in glazed terra cotta tiles made by the Northwestern Terra Cotta Company ..read more

When we went to Valencia, Spain we stayed with our friends M & G who rented an apartment there for a month. The building had an elevator and a set of stairs. I didn't mind going down the stairs, but I always used the elevator going up.
The steps were marble and the stairwell was always empty - we never saw anyone in the building when we came or went. The tile made everything echo and the entire stair chamber sounded hollow.
I took this photo on one of the days I was waiting at the top for everyone else to climb up to the apartment (since I was already there, having tak ..read more

I captured these six ducklings waiting for their mama, who was nearby watching them closely.

Just a quick drive-by photo of the Gulf of Mexico in Panama City Beach, Florida. Not the greatest photo but the first one I took when we got there.
We were on the way home when we got a phone call from our agent about a load heading to the Florida panhandle. We were planning on going to the family reunion but then decided against it because Ed's dad wasn't really up to traveling. But when we got the call for the load, Ed decided to take it since it was going to the exact area where the reunion being held.
Looks like there's going to be some fun on the horizon ..read more

Photo taken in 2008 at the Little America Hotel & Resort in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Something I read online recently:
I make my ramen the way a friend taught me in eleventh grade. Every fall, I listen to a playlist made for me by a boy I drove across a border to hook up with. I eat sushi because a girl who won't talk to me anymore made me try it, and Indian food because my best friend's parents ordered for me before I knew what I liked. There are movies I love because someone I loved loved them first. I am a mosaic of everyone I've ever loved, even for a he ..read more

The love of flags runs deep in Texas (and other places, too). This display was from a tiny town about two hours south of Dallas. I don't understand people who fly flags. Especially political ones or controversial ones. Why do you have such a need for other people to know where you stand? Why do you have a need, period, for people to know what you like or dislike? I truly don't get it.
On the other hand, it does weed out the people I don't want to associate with. Thanks for the heads up!
