Not exactly sure “win” is the correct term, but I was please to have had a three win night last night. Current project, courtroom and new project.
Three Components of a Three Win Night
Starting with the courtroom drama, I was quite pleased with the jury’s verdicts last night. I didn’t realize quite how much until all 34 counts were read. The release of anxiety was physical for me.
The verdicts coincided with the finishing of the slip-stitch blanket that I was working on ..read more

Many of you know that my sense of direction is truly awful. I think I may have discovered the reason. My settings are set to map view disabled.
How To Fix Map View Disable Settings
In short, I have no idea how to fix this setting. But I’m convinced that some people have this feature and some people don’t.

Not sure why the fact that my current blanket project is still not done is so frustrating. But there it is.
No Reason For Frustration That It’s Still Not Done
Here’s the list of reasons why there is no reason to be frustrated at this incomplete project.
I only started this project on April 22nd, so it’s only been about five weeks.
One of the weeks was the Men’s Knitting Retreat – Spring 2024 Northeast, where I did absolutely no knitting ..read more

With the successful completion of the Men’s Knitting Retreat – NorthEast Spring 2024 event last week, I’ve finally sorted through all the photos. Mostly.
Pictorial Overview – Men’s Knitting Retreat – NorthEast Spring 2024
The Venue – Easton Mountain
The beauty of Easton Mountain and the way the retreat center is laid out is part of the success of these amazing retreats. I never leave there feeling anything less than transformed.

The official first night of the retreat we have opening circle. This is where we set the tone for the remainder of the retreat.
Ever-Opening Circle
At the end of the retreat, you might infer that we do a closing circle. But we’d prefer that the circle continued to open and spread all that we shared with the other people in their worlds. So it’s ever-opening, instead of closing for us.

Yes, we’re off to Easton Mountain. It never gets any less exciting on the days I head up to Easton Mountain for one of the Men’s Knitting Retreats!
All Packed And We’re Off
Packing for this retreat had to be a bit more strategic. And I also had to leave on-time. I’ll be picking up Bob and Brady in Albany.
They both flew in last night and stayed at a hotel up there ..read more

Perhaps only old-timey folks like me are amazed. But the amazing automation they used to grind a stump and dig a hole for the new tree was wild!
Truly Amazing Automation (in my mind)
The tree company sent two of their workers to grind a 30″ diameter stump, dig a hole big enough to plant a 20-foot maple tree and clean up all the mess. They were able to do it all in an hour because of this amazing machine ..read more

The days when I have a burst of productivity are definitely fewer and further apart than they used to be. They’re still great when they occur.
Manic or A Burst of Productivity?
Probably a bit of both, but fortunately I don’t suffer from bi-polar disorder. My last few days have been incredibly productive.
Primarily, I was thrilled that we were able finalize the tree-replacement process in our front yard.
We’ve replaced two very old, misplaced and overgrown ornamental trees with a handsome, new baby-tree ..read more

I know a lot of retirees state, “Where did I ever find the time?” once they realized how full their lives became after working.
Where Did I Ever Find The Time To Work?
I truly hope that every person that decides to retire from their career gets to say this. Honestly, I had no doubt my life would be full the moment I retired. For the last three years of my working days, I allocated only about 20% of my working time to actual work ..read more

There are certain signs that show when it’s almost here. The Men’s Spring Knitting Retreat, of course! Less than two weeks!
You Know It’s Almost Here When…
There are a few signs about the upcoming men’s knitting retreat that always get me very excited.
Printing name-tags and agendas are the most obvious sign. Name-tags are one of the few things I can’t easily make once I get up to Easton Mountain ..read more
