Spring is here! Although the warmer temperatures may be welcome milestones for equestrians, spring grass can pose problems for sugar sensitive horses. Here are some tips for keeping those horses healthy while the grass is at its greenest.

It is that time of the year—the cold, gray winter is transforming into a warm, sunny spring and the grass is starting to grow! For normal horses, the spring grass is a lovely change from hay, but for sugar-sensitive horses it is a dangerous time of year.

“I guess he’d rather be in Colorado
He’d rather spend his time out where the sky looks like a pearl after a rain…”
~John Denver
I know I’d rather be in Colorado — especially with a horse facility like this one. Set on over 48 acres, this six-bedroom and five-bathroom home is only 45 minutes outside of Denver. And the entire set up is an equestrian’s dream.
The main home is a stunning custom ranch-style that has been tastefully updated from top to bottom. It has a large open floor plan that flows seamlessly from the kitchen to the dining and famil ..read more

The docuseries, which will feature polo, will “pull the curtain back on the grit and passion of the sport.”
Do the writers of Eventing Nation have an oracle they’re consulting for articles? That’s the question now that we’ve learned Netflix is set to debut a new two-part series featuring Prince Harry and Nacho Figueras in a show dedicated to professional polo in Wellington, Florida.
It will be “shot primarily at the US Open Polo Championship in Wellington, Florida, at The USPA National Polo Center,” per Sussex.com. Archewell Productions, in partnership with Boardwalk Pictures, “will provide vi ..read more

We cant get enough of the Hangover-themed costumes these riders wore.
There’s no doubt the Wolfpack owned whatever costume competition this was. And also, check out the freaking bridle-less cutting. Like… wut? (Don’t worry, folks. Baby Carlos was NOT harmed in this ride — it’s a doll). In case you missed it, his horse is painted like a tiger. YAS.
These riders are next level, and we’re totally here for it. We want to be friends with these guys.

Katie Allen-Clarke, Head of Marketing at Horse & Country, reflects on the sustainability of horse ownership and suggests a few easy ways to improve it.
In today’s environmentally conscious world, even our equine companions can lend a hoof in reducing their carbon footprint. From recycling products to conserving water, here are some small yet impactful ways to make your horse’s lifestyle more eco-friendly.
Recycle, recycle, recycle
Let’s start with the basics — recycling. Just like us, horses generate waste ranging from bedding to feed packaging. Instead of tossing these items into the rub ..read more

Five horses escaped handlers on Wednesday, wreaking havoc through the city and leaving a lot of unanswered questions in their wake.
“A number of military working horses became loose during routine exercise this morning,” a spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence told NPR. “All of the horses have now been recovered and returned to camp.”
According to officials from within the ministry, seven horses and six riders from the Life Guards were conducting routine exercises when they passed a construction site, and the “sound of concrete hitting the ground” spooked the horses.

“So go ride, folks. And if your horse scoots out from under your aids, relax, weight your aids, take a deep breath and wait. Count backwards slowly from 100 and see how your horse softens into the soft pressure. Reward, rest, and try again.”
Welcome to the next installment of Thoroughbred Logic. In this weekly series, Anthropologist and trainer Aubrey Graham, of Kivu Sport Horses, offers insight and training experience when it comes to working with Thoroughbreds (although much will apply to all breeds). This week ride along as Aubrey shares her logic on getting horses to accept and relax ..read more

Happy Hump day, fellow Small Predators!
Florida had us on preheat last week, but has apparently decided to put us back in the fridge for another week or so. (#Winning)
Anyhow, here is some sage advice. The more fervently someone swears a horse is bombproof, the further away you should run. This is because many people are ignorant about how poorly (or UN) trained their horse is. Also, horses sometimes like to make liars of us all. ?
