The World’s Writing Systems This blew me away. A website collecting together every one of the current, 293 written scripts of the world. The site is the brainchild of Johannes Bergerhausen of Germany. The information is beautifully presented, from oldest to newest, showing one reference glyph to represent each language.  What I found really surprising is that new scripts are still being developed. Making Rig Sans, Part 7 Figures. Fonts can have multiple figure styles for different uses. Lining, or Modern figures, are all the same height (similar the capital letters) and work well in all-caps settings and on their own. Oldstyle, or text figures, have varying heights and blend well in running text settings. Both types of figures may have Tabular versions.
