Marvel Legends Spider-man Retro Series The Rose

Here's a look at the Marvel Legends The Rose. Every rose has thorns. While this Rose has no actual thorns it does have some issues. One of them being the size of his head. I think it's too small. Another complaint is that he only has one gripping hand. And he comes with two guns... okay so he may not always carry two guns. But he most certainly would hold a rose in one. Two gripping hands are needed. On the positive side of things he has a new body. Or at least new arms and legs. I'm pleasantly surprised they are pinless. I'm not sure if the torso is new. The jacket is a bit of a pain ..read more

Marvel Legends Spider-man Retro Series Tarantula

With Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse opening this week I thought to get round to some Spider-man figures. First up, Tarantula.    I'm happy that we finally have got a new figure of Tarantula. I'm not happy that his mask is blue... It's not inaccurate. He has been shown with a blue mask in the comics. I just very much prefer him with a black mask. It would go better with the rest of his costume. The blue sticks out too much for me. The body reuses the Sunfire body with new feet. His feet have the spikes sticking out at the tip.  The logo and the lines were all well applie ..read more

Torpedo away! Torpedo is probably the best figure of this wave for me. He looks great! I don't think I have any complaints about him... oh wait maybe one. But it's a really small issue. His head is gloss whereas the rest of his body is matte. It is noticeable. We'll just have to take it as if he just came out of the water or something. His suit is similar to the one his original figure had. It has the same black and light grey colours. He has some additional gear such as the wrist tracker, harness, knife sheath and pouches strapped to his leg.    His diving suit is tight. S ..read more

G.I.Joe Classified Series Copperhead

The only Cobra operative in this wave, Copperhead. Copperhead is a boat pilot. He typically wears a green singlet and pants. The Cobra logo was well printed on the singlet. Unfortunately it's blocked by the harness. We can remedy that. The harness is a separate piece and can be removed. The bands on his arms, belt and the crotch protector are also separate pieces. The bands do not stay on well and we need to constantly re-adjust them when fiddling with the figure. There's nice detail on his pants. The padded areas are light green in colour.  The harness can be removed with som ..read more

Get ready for some Rock N' Roll!  I first got to know of Rock N Roll (RnR) through buying his V2 3.75" figure back then. I always try to get more more value and RnR fit the bill. He came with two gatling guns and ammo belts. It was a really cool figure. They've brought him back to his original vocation here. That, is a gunner so we don't get the gatling guns. The accessories are still cool though which we'll see later. RnR is from the early batch of Joes. It's no surprise he has an older appearance. And a retro looking attire. His greenish white shirt with the dark olive green at th ..read more

Hello. You guys want a cracker? No? Then how about a new review? Hi all! No I'm not back. Not full time anyway. I'm just going to put up the occasional one now and then. I've received several messages requesting me to start things up again. I'm really touched. Truly I am. Didn't think I would be missed with the many, many awesome reviewers out there. The local stores have also slowed in bringing in stock so I wasn't that enthusiastic in reviewing stuff you probably would have already seen elsewhere. Your requests tell me otherwise so here I am!  I apologise in advance if I make a ..read more

Marvel Legends Series Ravager Thor & Korg BAF

A very much delayed look at Ravager Thor and the Korg BAF.  By now I'm sure most of you would have watched Thor: Love and Thunder. How did you find it? I personally did not like it. It's probably the first Marvel movie I did not enjoy. Too much comedy... Thor was practically fooling around the whole time... Next up is Black Panther I think. Hopefully that will be better.     Ravager Thor reminds me a lot of Thunderstrike for his attire. I wonder if they had that in mind when designing his look. He has on a singlet, vest, pants and boots. The body is all new. The elbo ..read more

Here's a look at the G.I.Joe Classified Sgt. Stalker. Sgt. Stalker is among the earliest Joes to feature in the cartoon and in the comics. Toy wise I passed on the old 3.75" figure as he only came with a machine gun if I recall correctly. Back then it was all about the accessories. More the better. Cause same price, more value. Lol. We don't have to worry about the amount of accessories with the Classified figure. He comes with plenty as you'll see in a bit. Sgt. Stalker is dressed in an olive green camouflage uniform. I say olive green but it's more of a grey with a tinge of olive gre ..read more

Something's wrong with my eyes! I'm seeing double! Four figures... I was kidding about seeing double. I did think something was wrong though. Or maybe I'm confused. I'm not sure which character should be which. Now I am not up to date with G.I.Joe. My knowledge is limited to the cartoons and comics from the 90s and earlier. So I Googled it. Wiki describes Tomax as the one with his hair parted on his right side and Xamot on his left. And Xamot has the scar on his right cheek. The issue is which side the pauldron should be on. From most pics I looked up Tomax has the pauldron  ..read more
