It was one of those days when the tulips in Boston's Public Garden were exploding in color...... .....and recent college graduates in robes and mortarboards were wandering for pictures with their respective families. The pedal-powered swan boats had lines of tourists waiting to ride around the lagoon in the Public Garden. The pedestrian walkways in the Public Garden were thronged with people out and about. Did I mention there were tulips everywhere? The George Washington statue in the Public Garden. Walkers and snackers on the Boston Common. An iconic view of the Hood m ..read more

Dogs on the beach are controversial for some folks - me - I like them - they are generally friendly and unabashed in their pleasure at romping around, and dashing in and out of the water and chasing thrown balls with child-like glee. A huge expanse of firm walking sand is exposed at this low tide on White Horse Beach ..read more

The logistics for this event are staggering. Support services are provided by the many yellow-jacketed volunteers. Stacks of heat-reflective blankets are ready to be distributed to each competitor shortly after crossing the finish line - there were 25,000+ of them. There are many yellow-jacketed volunteers who contribute the person-power to make this event happen. I am not a runner but, the effort to manage a 25,000 participant event doesn't happen by chance. So much good going on by people who contribute their time and work. The volunteers were ever-ready to provide support to the ..read more

Springtime is here as this art installation by Brooklyn artist Daniele Frazier in Boston's Seaport District illustrates. These wind-sock-like daffodils inflate and dance around in the breeze. On the Boston Common, this young artist regularly has folks lined up to have him draw their portrait - $1 each. People stand in line for quite a while waiting for their turn. He's quite engaging. He does pen and ink drawings on index sized cards. It's definitely "a thing." Otherwise, a good day to stroll on the Common. Or see the beginning signs of spring in the Public Garden. Walking the dog on the Boston Common, the classic brick townhouses line Beacon Street in the background. Still chilly but, many folks have put away their gloves, hats, and scarves for the season. The theatre district is quiet on this Sunday morning. Strolling along a path on the Boston Common. A quiet protest in front of the State House about the current situation in Sri Lanka. A pedestrian-only area near Downtown Crossing ..read more
