LONDONERS have been left fuming after changes to refuse collections have left parts of a town being described as a ‘shanty’.   A passer-by in Enfield, North London snapped a picture yesterday of the discarded rubbish which has yet to be collected.   Many people were left fuming about the scenes on Hazelwood Lane as over two dozen black bin bags were left lying on the pavement or on top of a bin.   Enfield Council recently changed from a weekly refuse service to a fortnightly service, which has caused the build-up.   Locals were outraged by the overflowin ..read more

A SCOTS businessman has been given six months to pay back £65,000 under the proceeds of crime legislation after admitting to supplying cocaine.  Paul Clarkson was jailed for eight months back in December 2021 after a tip-off to police found him in possession of £1,630 of cocaine, sealable bags used for supplying drugs and a mobile phone containing messages relating to the supply of controlled drugs.  Pictured: Paul Clarkson. GLASGOW locals have been warned to be cautious after giant hogweed – a toxic plant known to cause chemical burns – has been seen cropping up in a local park.   A concerned local took to social media on Monday to warn residents of the city to be cautious of the dangerous plant.   The unnamed Scot had spotted the toxic plant growing in a number of locations in Auldhouse Park, and snapped photos which they then shared to warn other Glaswegians.  The plant poses serious risk to people and animals, and its sap can cause nasty burns if it comes in contact with the skin.  ..read more
