Yes, as some of you may have noticed, it's been a little quiet around my corner of the internet lately! While I have loved running this quilting business for more than ten years, my life has seen some changes lately (as has been the case for so many of us!). These changes have shifted me away from designing new quilts. But don't worry, it's all for the good! I recently picked up a new part-time gig running somebody else's social media for a change—not quilting-related, but I'm looking forward to the new challenge. And my daughters are currently finishing up 9th and 7th ..read more

Welcome to our last block in the Summer Sampler Series 10th Anniversary celebration! I hope you've enjoyed this trip down memory lane with Katie, Faith, and myself, and will get lots of use out of these fabulous—and free!—block patterns. I know I’ve enjoyed updating and improving my block instructions. I’ve certainly improved my piecing skills over the years, but I also think I’ve learned a thing or two about pattern writing since then! (Click here for the original post, which includes some interesting info about the history of this block.) This is, of course, a foundation pap ..read more

It’s time!!! Summer Sampler 2021 launches TODAY! This year’s theme is “Vintage Restyle.” We took some of our favorite traditional quilt block designs—think Sawtooth Star, Irish Chain, Log Cabin, etc.—and asked our talented team of guest designers (see below) to give them a fresh, modern spin. I love a good design challenge, and this, friends, was a very good challenge! The result was the gorgeous quilt you see above. Want to make it with us this summer? You know you do! ?Katie and Faith and I have so much fun putting together this annual quilt-along, and last year w ..read more

Welcome back to our celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Summer Sampler Series! We’re celebrating by re-releasing all of the original Summer Sampler block patterns, entirely for free. This week we’re on block number 6, Arkansas Traveler. Click here for all the blocks in the Summer Sampler 10 series Arkansas Traveler was, in my opinion, one of the most difficult blocks in the 2011 quilt-along. It combined diamond piecing, paper-piecing, and an intense number of seams that all converged in the center. Yep, all this in just one 12” square block. ?I chose this block for the or ..read more
